I’m really grateful for the friends I met along the way ever since I started. They gave me a lot of treasured memories and they were what pushed me to keep going. Without them, I wouldn’t have made it as far as I did and I would’ve dropped the game sooner. Thank you guys.

Its hard enough to find reasons to keep going without updates, but seeing nothing to look ahead to is even harder. It feels like we’re starving and looking for breadcrumbs to find a reason to stay. We shouldn’t be okay with just breadcrumbs, but people are so hungry for anything they’ll take it.

The only reason I looked forward to the game was because of community events like luti, but these can only carry so far until you start to want something more.

It stopped being fun after updates & patches barely changed anything and things quickly got stale from that.

For the community, its become just as stale and heartbreaking to me because of its problems.

I’ve loved this game since I got it on
the Wii U and its had a special place in my heart since then. Seeing how it is now it feels like the game is barely supported and that breaks my heart because it could’ve been so much more than it was.

I’m going to be retiring from competitive splatoon for the foreseeable future and I might come back if the issues I have with the game and community are fixed.

Everyone has different motivators for playing comp but something I noticed is that players here have VERY varying levels of commitment to it

What motivated me to get better and climb up was the community and the game, but the lack of support from both recently has been really demotivating tbh

I think you put it really well, I first got into comp because some casual friends were telling me that I should try it out and I was already interested in competitive content since S2 where I started watching chara for their brella gameplay to get better at it

after seeing overwatch’s mid season patch i am genuinely astonished as to how bad these are at actually fixing problems
