Ethics Chairman James Lankford says the Senate panel works "in a quiet manner" to avoid the "theater of the allegation" that comes with public investigations

Happy 79th Birthday to Iggy Pop, born James Newell Osterberg Jr.
So apparently this story is what Patel and Blanche felt like they needed to do a press conference about, even though the Southern Poverty Law Center already broke it earlier today. Trying to own the libs. You know how they do.

Great Gosh a-Molly, was one of the Louvin Brothers secretly... the Joker?!
You. Are. Fucking. Kidding. Me.
This is monstrous. Just profoundly shameful behavior by our government.

Silver Age panel. Jimmy Olsen is outside somewhere holding a camera in his hands. Narration: "But, wait...what's this new surprise that Jimmy runs into, a few minutes later?" Spoilers, it's a robot approaching him. The robot has written on its chest, "This robot is trained to smash your camera". Jimmy says, "Jeepers! Got to escape that robot!"
One of the nice bits about being a publicly Black businessperson is I never have to worry about losing racist dollars, because they're all so desperate for my failure already that they would have never dreamed of supporting my output in the first place.
Whattaya gonna do, NOT buy my stuff HARDER?
I think a great set of rules for moving about the world is
1. Don’t be afraid to ask
2. Don’t be afraid to say yes
3. Look like you will say yes
The temptation is to note the number of straight friends who used to refer to me as "gay but cool" to other people during our late teens. It's certainly one I remember, though in hindsight, I question the "compliment" part.
As ever, I return to Emily Hampshire telling Entertainment Weekly "and there's a LETTERER, and like, I love fonts, but she KNOWS fonts." It continues to be meme'd by my friends to this day. I almost put "Jodie: She Knows Fonts" on my business cards.

Been reading THE BOYS comics and I forgot that however extreme and gross the show is the comics are 200% more.
Artist George Pratt and Joel Meadows, publisher of a Kickstarter for a book of Pratt's art, have started a messy series of dueling accusations over the disposition of the funds for the campaign.

This is a terrible policy. I have no love for smoking, but even less for prohibitionism. Whether it's illegal drugs or just tobacco, this kind of law is worse than anything it purports to address.
The Trump administration is misusing Americans' confidential data in order to create a national voter database to surveil and purge eligible voters.
We're going to court to stop them.
Trump is within sight of an under 30% overall approval rating.
One of the most important causes right now is to establish a media narrative and popular support behind severe punishments and consequences to our present criminals running things.
These matriarchal rodents often have bloody succession wars to replace their queen. But in a colony in California, Queen Tere ceded the throne to her daughter, Arwen, without violence. n.pr/3QSZmax
Between Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump, there are now two fewer men who've actually been President than the number of men on the "official count" of Presidents since the Constitutional Convention.
Bad news for Trump: No one remembers Grover Cleveland, either.

Substack CEO Hamish McKenzie: "Email is an important distribution channel. It should not be your only one." then he quotes Mills Baker on his team: "I know l've said this a lot, but I cannot emphasize enough that email will continue to change, to become less deterministically reliable as a means for distributing your work; this is a huge part of why we got into the app and feed business, as you may know! You can blame a few things:"
Substack's CEO now trying to scare people into *only* distributing their content through their proprietary app, not email. (The link he posted warns users away from email.) It's not enough that Substack's locking in publishers & readers with "notes" and comments, now they're escalating tactics.
'splain to me why someone would "improve" an existing photo by running it through a.i. so the text is garbled and shatner no longer looks like shatner
