They changed the headlines—not the policy.
ICE isn’t in the spotlight anymore… but the raids, detentions, and family separations never stopped.

“Human beings do not belong in warehouses. From Arizona to New Hampshire, even Republican local elected officials oppose these warehouses. Not one penny of our tax dollars should be going towards these massive detention centers.”
BREAKING: “An immigration officer has been charged with third-degree assault and criminal mischief following an investigation into how he treated a protester who said the officer put her in a chokehold.”
ICE detained an Army wife this week at her immigration appointment – where she was literally following the legal process. We can’t make people jump through a ton of hoops and then detain them when they do.

“Arrested without any order, any warrant... They took away my wife. They don’t tell me anything,” said U.S. Army sergeant Jose Serrano.
"Attorney Matthew James Kozik said Deisy Rivera Ortega held a valid work permit and was previously granted a withholding of removal to El Salvador."
BREAKING: We're joining over 120 organizations issuing a travel advisory to warn anyone visiting the U.S. for the 2026 FIFA World Cup of possible civil and human rights violations.
FIFA must pressure the Trump administration to protect the people traveling to and working at the games.
Good @brianbeutler.bsky.social ideas on how Dem House can pursue Trump:
*defund agencies of Trump officials who flout subpoenas
*subpoena corps that "settle" his lawsuits
*end filibuster, reform SCOTUS
On pod, Brian is good on Trump display of weakness in VA fight:

Ten Ohio police departments serving towns of fewer than 2,500 people have signed 287(g) agreements with ICE. All ten signed in the past six months. It is unclear how many are authorized to conduct welfare checks on immigrant children, or what their geographic limits are.
Republicans picked a redistricting fight in Virginia and they lost.
Rep. McCormick's bill to force parts of Virginia back into DC is pathetic sour grapes. Not only do we need to reject it, we need to build on the momentum in VA and give DC residents the full political power we deserve.
NEW: The Trump administration has cut more than 4,000 employees from some of the nation’s top law-enforcement agencies, even as it vowed to crack down on crime, according to records obtained by Reuters.

🚨BREAKING: Fox News poll shows Americans now prefer Democrats over Republicans on the economy by +4 points (52%-48%) — the FIRST time Democrats have led on this since 2010!
Even Fox’s own numbers are turning against Trump’s chaos. The GOP’s “economic genius” brand is collapsing.
According to a Facebook post by emergency services, there was an attempted suicide at the Moshannon ICE detention camp last night. Appears services were delayed due to landing zone issues.

Trump has cut legal immigration more than illegal immigration, as I predicted. While illegal entries have fallen, they continued a prior trend, falling more before he came back. Meanwhile, Trump has drastically cut legal entries, reversing the prior upward trend. www.cato.org/blog/trump-h...
The far right is again pushing its Great Replacement conspiracy theory in Texas.
But despite activists' hysteria, demographic change in America has been fairly continuous for more than 500 years, and is essentially irreversible.

This is expert trolling from Jamie Raskin. If Republicans are suddenly angry about losing in the gerrymandering wars, then they're welcome to join him and Dems in passing bans on gerrymandering in the next Congress, he tells me:

I attended the trial of Renea Gamble, the Alabama woman arrested for wearing a penis costume to a No Kings protest. Like the viral video of her arrest, it was both funny and enraging. New from me @theintercept.com:
