When a video game asks me to find the 7 magic stickers of destiny, it gives me a sort of in universe measure of how long the game will be and what the structure is. And it's fun to collect things. It feels like having milestones.

When TV show characters do it, I do not give a damn.

Sometimes a TV show or movie plot feels like a video game plot to me and I'm struggling to articulate why that's bad without denigrating video games because I love those.

Like, after finishing the story i unlocked a bonus fight against bahamut but it's lv250 and my gear is merely 200 so he kills me in one hit and i do essentially no damage. So now i gotta figure out where to grind lv250 gear and i just wanna do the cool bonus fights

Stranger of Paradise is pretty fun but I honestly wish it didn't have the loot system that asks you to grind levels for hours just to build your character the way you want. I guess I just want it to be a devil may cry where I pick my weapons and moves and I'm good.
