And on #foreign aid, we are well past the point of needing to ship food aid overseas. Except for acute emergencies, it is more effective to provide cash transfers to families - and invest in agriculture in Africa.

If farmers would like to join together to support the common good, then great. Let's do that. But if it is just about carving out and continuing benefits for themselves, then no, count me out.

We have devastating job loss and suicides in the aid community, but I don't see the calls to help us.
