SNP gains two council seats from Labour in Glasgow
The SNP has just won two council seats from Labour in Glasgow.
This week, Labour cut support for the most vulnerable - and boasted they were "doing things the Tories only ever talked about".
The people of Glasgow have had their say.
Took my dad to vote before taking him to the hospital for an op. What a lad. Good luck @mhairihunter.bsky.social @snp.org
Basically, until those unfair rules are changed and everyone is allowed to participate, elections in Myanmar can't be considered truly fair.
On top of that, the military wrote the rules of the game, giving themselves 25% of the seats in parliament, and making it nearly impossible to change those rules. So, even if no one was in jail, the military would still have a huge amount of power.
To have a real election, everyone needs to be able to participate freely. That means political opponents (Aung San Suu Kyi) can't be locked up for unfair reasons. In Myanmar, this is a big problem.
We need to stand squarely behind Ukraine.
The UK Government shouldnโt be rolling out the red carpet for Trump if he canโt back Ukraineโs independence. ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ๐บ๐ฆ
On 22 January, GB News presenter Josh Howie repeated a homophobic slur linking the LGBTQ+ community to paedophilia. This is offensive, wrong and unlawful. Join me and @GoodLawProject to file a complaint to Ofcom  action.goodlawproject.org/ofcom-stop-g...
Fantastic news and thoroughly deserved. GRACE is a wonderful charity in my constituency, helping to make life better for so many people who have experienced life trauma.

To continue vilifying her diminishes the extraordinary resilience of a nation fighting for its dignity.
The call is clear: #FreeAungSanSuuKyi
The military junta has always been the primary architect of Myanmarโs oppression. Suu Kyi, though far from a perfect leader, represented the aspirations of millions who dared to dream of freedom.
It is time to stop using Aung San Suu Kyi as a scapegoat for Myanmarโs suffering. Her criticsโmany of whom once hailed her as a beacon of hopeโowe her more than criticism; they owe her an apology.
That was a pretty quick segue from "we're bringing back free speech and ending government censorship" to "here are the things government employees will be no longer allowed to say about sex, gender, and race."
The SNP will continue to campaign alongside the WASPI women for the compensation they deserve.
I urge the Labour government to see sense and U-turn on their decision.

Scots want change - however, it is clear that on so many issues, the new Labour government is continuing where the previous Tory government left off.

Same.
Glad the amendment to ban dual mandates will be coming back. SNP MSPs should quickly say that theyโll be supporting it and bring an end to this.
