im sometimes glad doujinshi is somewhat niche in EN markets like it truly has to be a labour of love to work on a singular project for months w/o focus on monetary gain which is somehow extremely rare in fan spaces lately... haha

literallyyyy 😭😭😭 it makes it seem like this extremely polished thing with perfect bound foil covers when your '[shipname zine]' can literally just be an A4 folded paper of chicken scratch drawings of your favs

seeing projects with like 20 merch items being bundled in and making upwards of 20K USD in revenue being called zines like what are we doing here lads

this is a #vent but i seriously wish fandom spaces stopped using the word 'zine' to refer to commercialized collaborative projects and called them what they are: anthologies....
