In further proof the UK is spiralling over trans rights, this Labour MP just called Ann Widdecombe 'woke'

this internet was a mistake, but sometimes it’s the best thing ever created
Insane how quickly the racist regression is happening in this country. Decades of progress being undone in weeks, without even any laws having to be passed. Just sheer intimidation from Trump and the right, and sheer cowardice from the corporations.
How Right-Wing Media Spread the False Claim That One in Twelve Londoners Are ‘Illegal Migrants’
There is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public, in order to push for Trump-style mass deportations, argues Zoe Gardner

The Room Next Door - Donald Trump Plane Crash Fact Check
The top agent at the FBI’s New York field office vowed in a defiant email to his staff to “dig in” after the Trump administration targeted officials involved in the investigations into the Jan. 6 attack — and praised the bureau’s interim leaders for defending its independence.

We're seeing a toxic surge of anti-LGBTQ rhetoric on GB News. This is what advertisers such as Sky are enabling.
If Ofcom continues failing to enforce its own rules, then MPs need to step in and hold it to account.

Life would continue and it’s an addiction, but I have a very wide circle of friends around the world, and I want to keep up with their lives. Until I find another way to do that, or until everyone else leaves - which is starting - I’m staying. Where can you do a family group chat if not on WhatsApp?
Wherever you stand on what’s happening in Gaza, it cannot be a good thing that so many MPs are funded by any one country. I may be naive, but I don’t like the idea of any political lobbying groups using money to get their points heard, especially not when lives are at stake.
This is awesome. This is how to fight them, at every turn, with those who can stepping up.
Thanks to The Skimm.
It’s finding somewhere else to keep up with geographically distant friends and family, and where to put all those photos, and have group chats. This place is an easy swap for Twitter but there’s no obvious swap for Facebook or WhatsApp. Recommendations welcome.
I meant for me. I can’t remember which one I did first.
I loved the book. Hated the musical the first time I saw it. Can’t remember which came first.

People like Janet Petro don’t realise that we won’t forgive and we won’t forget what they are doing
But as said character isn’t actually American (I have not fact-checked this) he’s not allowed a US passport. Swings and roundabouts.
It’s the ‘defending women’ line that gets me. Defending us from what exactly?
cis folks, please read this hideous thing. if you didn’t believe it was all one fight before, they snuck in some “fetal personhood” here. we’re in this together.
and remember: if you know a trans person, *no, you don’t.*
*we* get to decide when/if we disclose. don’t put your trans friends at risk.
Trump doing to trans-inclusive orgs what he previously did to Planned Parenthood, which has not crumbled into dust.
Just a reminder that as fucked as this is, we are still surviving.
Jesus Christ (apologies to Christians but I don’t know what else to say). The Daily Mail has truly gone full-on bonkers. Thanks for posting this - I avoid anything DM but it’s good to know what we’re fighting against. Littlejohn was always a prat of the highest order though.
Excellent news. And my former (only because I moved house) very excellent MP, @drrosena.bsky.social
One of my favourite memories about going to primary school in the 1980s is all the 1940s wartime and cockney songs we learned that would be considered highly inappropriate for 8-year-olds now… All the nice girls love a sailor; What shall we do with the drunken sailor?… There were a lot of sailors
Mine was ‘offspring of a virgin’s womb’. Hilarity.
I briefly wondered who Fin was, before remembering that I did a French degree.
