Are there still people out there who think that cycle lanes are a waste of money?

Why is Chris Bishop Sending People Speeding into a Death Trap? - Greenpeace Aotearoa “It’s a death trap” said National Party Campaign Committee Chair and Transport Minister Chris Bishop, on September 23, 2025.

Why is Chris Bishop sending people speeding into a 'death trap'. When the Ōtaki to Levin highway was 100kmh many died; after the Ardern Govt reduced it to 80kmh no-one died, when Luxon Govt increased it back to 100kmh, the dying restarted. www.greenpeace.org/aotearoa/sto...

If a foreign adversary snuck into our Federal budget and cut Education and Science Research the way we’re cutting it ourselves — strategically undermining America’s long-term health, wealth, and security — we would likely consider it an act of war.

Has Labour asked its members who their preferred coalition partners are? Between NZF and the Greens. I'm interested in knowing the result of this, to be honest.

Well, I wouldn't go as far to call her a "reporter". More like a gossip columnist.

NZ needs to have a ‘mature conversation’ about selling state assets, PM says Prime Minister Christopher Luxon has indicated asset sales could be included in National’s manifesto for the 2026 election.

In fact, I think a truly mature conversation would actually assess some of our many past asset sales and consider whether re-nationalising some of those assets might be in the country's interest.

But that's definitely not the conversation he wants.

There is money - it's about priorities. Low value roads or healthcare? Taxcuts for tobacco companies and landlords or education? These are real options that the govt has had.

This cursed intersection in Lower Hutt disagrees with you

Shouldn't they be towing these vehicles away? If a car just parked like that on the road, doesn't it get towed away?

It should be light rail

Couldn't we have just accepted two boats for $550m and then sold them on? Much better than $671m for nothing to show for it?

Look at it this way, the panel beaters and mechanics are happy with the increased demand for repairs. Simulating the economy. And cyclists are being protected. Win win!

To be honest, I don't think Passenger Rail from Auckland to Tauranga via Hamilton is a vote winner. It should be marketed without focusing solely on the Passenger. They should talk up the freight benefits of rail along that corridor, and getting trucks off the road.

From the next NZ Labour policy platform I'd like to see:

- Wealth + capital gains tax
- mandatory Māori wards
- Te Aka Whai Ora
- Legalise cannabis
- Clean Car Discount + Home solar and battery subsidy
- Light Rail + funded Te Huia + SI service
- Free dental
- KiwiSaver beefed up

Does the speed limit apply on teacher-only days? Only during term time, or does it also include school holidays? This is all just too confusing.

How is that legal?

Stick with Szczesny. It's been a winning formula. It ain't broke.

I thought that was an April Fools day joke. It's it real?

Cyclist says this new bike lane is so confusing and dangerous she won’t use it A long-time Wellington cyclist says having to battle speedy oncoming bikes is a terrifying prospect and she won’t be using the new lane on her daily commute.

Councillor Ray Chung, labelled the PR “a crock”. “Where’s the balanced perspective? How can the mayor justify using the opinions of two people to qualify the success of a multi-million dollar spend.”

The opinion of one person: www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3606... What a load of crock!

And while we're at it, if a Facebook post, or any other social media post breaches our regulations and they do nothing about it, then their service should be forbidden. Their community guidelines do not override or regulations. Other countries should follow our lead.

So shouldn't this mean Amazon Echo will be blocked from working in New Zealand? I mean our regulations should forbid it?

1 year ago 2 0 1 0

Surely if this is a breach of NZ laws then Facebook should be banned for say 30 days in New Zealand? We should be banning any platform that fails to act on reports that breach NZ laws. Good riddance Meta and Twitter

Thank you for your response. My Mr 7 is Type 1 himself, approaching the 2-year dia-versary in a few months. Still so much to learn.
