Dillon Dingler for MVP

Watching Avs-Kings and I am stunned that teams are allowed to direct this many shots at the net from moderately dangerous areas of the ice. Is that really allowed? Didn’t see that in Red Wings games
100% morally accurate...
...watching carter hart lift the stanley cup
Found in North Carolina.
Yelled “1967” at them as I drove by
Oh yeah. I went through a few different analyses of goalie drafting a few years back
yeah it is here and i think a lot of drafting logic has moved that way in the last 5 years
Is that a threat
No. Beaten or matched by the following (82-game seasons since 00/01):
32 NYR 08/09
49 WSH 16/17
53 TBL 05/06, NYR 22/23
57 STL 23/24
60 EDM 23/24
64 CAR 10/11
65 PHX 07/08
69 TBL 03/04
75 CGY 21/22
76 NYR 09/10, TBL 24/25
81 DAL 05/06
82 DAL 22/23
86 DET 17/18
Thank you! So tied for franchise best for DET
is 86 the fewest MGL for any team in your database?
can we pencil you in as the backup
ooh that would be fun. in that case let me change it to
Freddie, drafted twice (6th, 3rd) and acquired via UFA
unfortunately character limits in that post precluded me from stating that it’s disgusting that VGK gave him the opportunity
10 of 16 goalies either taken in the 3rd round or later
7 of 16 goalies with the team that drafted them
An interesting data point on how teams find goaltending
one of my great disappointments is losing the only time i attempted to write on drafting goalies to stupid Vox Media

Both. Cossa lost the starting role in GR to Postava
Your Western Conference playoff starting goalies are:
MIN - Wallstedt (1st, draft)
DAL - Oettinger (1st, draft)
LAK - Forsberg (7th, UFA)
COL - Blackwood (2nd, trade)
UTA - Vejmelka (5th, UFA)
VGK - Hart (2nd, UFA***)
EDM - Ingram (3rd, trade)
ANA - Dostal (3rd, draft)
Your Eastern Conference playoff starting goalies are:
CAR - Bussi (undrafted, acquired off waivers)
OTT - Ullmark (6th, via trade)
PIT - Skinner (3rd, via trade)
PHI - Vladar (3rd, UFA)
MTL - Dobes (5th, draft)
TB - Vasi (1st, draft)
BOS - Swayman (4th, draft)
BUF - UPL (2nd, draft)
surely it was some chump
double up
Yeah Yzerman traded with the Dallas Stars to move up and take Cossa. Wallstedt was still on the board and considered to be the more *technically advanced* goalie. Minnesota took him a few picks later.
With the pick the Wings gave the Stars, the Stars drafted Wyatt Johnston...
Wallstedt starting Game 1 of the NHL playoffs….Cossa likely to back up Postava in Game 1 of the AHL playoffs.
Another defining move in Yzerman’s tenure
Now that the regular season is behind us, all 32 NHL teams are either getting set for the playoffs or offseason.
There's no better time to hand out report cards.
Every year I pick the Hurricanes and every year they let me down but that will not dissuade me from choosing them
The Pitt really is a spectacular show
Love seeing Sunny get an opportunity. Big name candidate off the GM market
What a spectacular Tigers game
Ugghhhhhhh I really don’t want to
For those that missed the montage to recap the last 29 years of Detroit sports on FSN/BSD/FDSN here it is. Beautifully put together by @jigawattmcfly.bsky.social
