This has been a huge project of ours! 😝 It sounds like a lot of weird jargon but it's actually really easy to explain in just a few minutes - Bluesky's word limit just makes it quite a challenge to tell the story. If you've got telegram I can fill in the blanks though!
They're the ones that are super detectable in the (current) formula - We also have mass spec results that show a number of constituents we validated by retention time using standards; the problem is the data is hazy since the alkanes fixatives occlude the fragrant stuff.
The one you're actually looking for will contain large amounts of citronellol, piperonal, and linalool. 😏
The trick is emulating that vapor pressure modifier outside of the context of a diaper.
The alkanes they are using to control volatility are a huge component of the way it smells.
Definitely talking about the same one - that's purely a sample formula they use. Can tell from a quick scan it's not what folks think - the formula is intensely woody (think sandalwood) with light touches of fruit and citrus
That particular one you're referring to isn't a patent for a scent (fragrance has no real IP protection in the US) - It's describing combinations of vapor pressure modifiers they use as fixatives to moderate evaporation. It's basically concerned with the shelf-life of the scent.
