@girlsontheball.bsky.social commentator for the U19s is great value. As an old guy, I appreciated the reference to David Seaman at the 2002 men’s World Cup.

Guess Mabel remained on the subs bench. One for the 1990s #wwe fans there.
Not sure who is though. The overall standard of the division throughout the season hasn’t been great, Coventry aside who have largely been good. Certainly doesn’t feel like 2023-24 in terms of quality.
Thinking back to the last time we doubled them, it was the last time I went to a football match with my dad, a loonnnng time ago! #itfc
That’s a lovely gift. I dream of the day when my StoryGraph app annual books-read counter makes it to one hundred or more!

We had a dartboard in our garage, so I’d have to ask my parents to move the car out if I wanted to use it. Many a time I’d get down to a double-1 finish, Eric Bristow had nothing to worry about, it’s fair to say.
I see skies of (mostly) blue
Artificial turf of green
There’s not a politician of any persuasion to be seen
And I think to myself
What a wonderful day for football #itfc
That looks a nasty one for Sam Szmodics, he’d only been on the pitch for a couple of minutes #dcfc #itfc
Well I wasn’t calling them to ask about tour availability, put it that way, it was an unrelated matter I was contacting the club about, but your comment was that calls weren’t being answered. Sorry that I took your comment literally.
Who knows what has happened. Some interesting articles saying one thing, others saying other things. Probably one of these instances where the truth will never come out.
Strange, I managed to get 2 phone calls answered by the club today, so I don’t think it’s an intentional move to close off phone lines. Guess I was fortunate.
Agree this is a win for “him” and no-one else.
A lot of ifs and maybes going around. If the photo opportunities he has taken advantage of are available to everyone on a tour, then so be it. If he had a private tea and biscuits or anything over and above any other tour visitor, then that’s a problem
i.e who knew what when. He says he was ‘welcomed’, well I expect all tour visitors are welcomed.
I feel there are a lot of assumptions made about who knew what and when etc. If he had the same tour visit as a private visitor that everyone else could have (I haven’t seen any photos showing material relating to his party (or company or whatever they are) then he has played us for his benefit.
Has the club simply been played like a fiddle?
If a visitor booked a place on a club tour, would they be able to experience every photo opportunity that this week’s events have shown?
I don’t share the views of said visitor but unless the club offered extra perks to him, is this a sacking offence?
Having lived in the town all my life, I’m interested to know when our community has been “close to hillbilly KKK bastards”. The town has quite a diverse community and I’m yet to see white hoods in the area.
Your experience may differ.
My parents took my sister and I to see Bucks Fizz on that tour, in my defence I was a mere 6-year old.
£3.50 for The Clash vs £4 for Bucks Fizz, interesting.
Onto it. If they don’t play it within 60 minutes then a complaint is going in.
Ha, in the last 2 weeks it’s been played 20 times on Smooth 80s over here, which is not enough in my opinion.

Viva La Vida by Coldplay. What is all that about?
Over here it’s hardly ever on the radio, so to me it’s a superb track, and anyone who sang at a Grand Final back when Channel 4 used to cover it is alright with me.
For those of us old enough to know that there was top-flight football before the Premier League was formed in 1992, I see your Max Dowman and I raise you Jason Dozzell, 16y 57d when he scored for #itfc vs #pusb in 1984.
30 years ago, when watching The Fast Show or Vic & Bob / Shooting Stars, I wasn’t thinking “I bet one of these chaps will write/illustrate a brilliant history of our monarchy”, but here we are! Really enjoyed this @charliehigson.bsky.social #booksky
I wonder if any keen reader ever gets close to thinking “well, I’ve read all the books I want to read”. Personally I am miles away from this point, and the superb stuff regularly offered by the likes of @whiterabbitbks.bsky.social and @newmodernbooks.bsky.social takes me further away!
A cousin of mine did some work at his house during his 1980s peak, said he was a really decent bloke, bought tea and sarnies out to the workers and had a good chat etc.
Thanks for this 2025 wrap of my reading @thestorygraph.com ! Really must make an effort to read more fiction in 2026… #booksky
