As expected, the Trump team is already deleting climate info from government websites. In anticipation, our team at Urban Ocean Lab created a permanent archive of 100+ key resources and published a permanent archive: www.urbanoceanlab.org/resource-hub 👩🏽‍💻

This is your semi-regular reminder that an acre of solar produces 100x the energy of an acre of corn for ethanol.

It goes without saying that this is stupid, and I wonder what set it off. Was there a segment on Fox News? But I thought it might be worth a thread explaining what Trump (and, to be fair, some other international leaders) don't get about international money 1/

Did you find any of the authors here on Bsky? Article was very insightful for me, I have some questions about their methodology

🧵Thread with examples of why it’s dumb to say “CO2 is only 0.04% of the atmosphere, so it can’t possibly have an effect!”

It’s time to just ignore the “400ppm is too small to have an impact” meme…

D.C. news station quietly scrubs stories on gas stove health dangers Advocates say Washington Gas, a WUSA9 sponsor, pressured the station to take down the stories. "News is absolutely being suppressed," one advocate said.

SCOOP: One of D.C.'s leading news stations, WUSA9, quietly took down two stories about the health impact of gas stoves to allow one of their advertisers, Washington Gas, to comment.

One of the stories remained down for 6 days. The other is still down.

What Trump’s tariffs could mean for American energy The prospect of added costs on products has big implications for businesses and consumers across the energy landscape — including at the gasoline pump.

"Be careful for what you wish" is good advice for MAGA.

Trump's tariffs on Canada and Mexico could cause US gasoline prices to soar.

Why?

US refineries need the type of crude that Canada supplies.

Higher gas prices especially hurt the working class.

More reasons to buy or lease an EV!

Airborne Tire Wear Particles: A Critical Reanalysis of the Literature Reveals Emission Factors Lower than Expected Tires are a ubiquitous part of on-road transport systems serving as the critical connecting component at the interface of the motive power and road surface. While tires are essential to automobile fun...

Fascinating. Secondary literature (and presumably press reporting and social media) have been over-estimating the contribution of tyre wear to air pollution. Good news (though all that tyre rubber must still end up somewhere in the environment).

Wealth Inequality in America
Wealth Inequality in America YouTube video by politizane

This video visualizing the wealth distribution BLEW MY MIND.

Take a few min to watch. Hard work isn't what's separating the wealthy and poor.

The average worker needs to work 1 month to make what the top 1% make in 1 hour.

We tend to think of car dealers as these friendly small family businesses but they are some of the richest people in communities. They are also massive donors to Republicans. This is @lyndonbajohnson.bsky.social’s soapbox.

There will be a ton of post mortems on the Northvolt situation. It really is sending shockwaves through the clean energy investing ecosystem. Lots of lessons, but one early obvious one is how difficult it is to catch up to Chinese manufacturing capabilities once they have a foothold in the market.

Thanks for this! Speaking with some folks who were involved in IRA's design, I'd suggest this was an intended part of the policy design–there were concerns we would not be able to meet the supply chain requirements otherwise. From a energy/supply chain security perspective, this is a 'good thing'.
