I told y‘all this would happen.
Final bulwark? Where were they when they could have stopped it easily? They were too complicit in their racism and misogyny to worry about democrac?
Most DHS arrests result from indiscriminate sweeps, despite its claim to engage in "targeted operations"
And I would point Your Honor to two declarations in a recent filing, which if Your Honor would permit, I could file in a supplement in this case. The first is a petitioner -- is a affidavit written by my client Oscar. And that was filed at Docket 67, The Advocates for Human Rights, et al., v. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, et al., Case Number 26-cv-749. And Oscar's declaration is important for a few reasons. One, it articulates just his horrific experience throughout this proceeding. And it's easy for us to see court orders not being complied with and the e-mails back and forth on the computer, but his affidavit really just shows what it's like to experience that and in ways that were personally for me just sickening to read as his attorney. That he was without food. He was without clean
clothes. He was subject to physical danger, both through reckless driving of ICE agents transporting him from one location to another, watching people screaming in pain with medical neglect, being exposed to COVID. Just the conditions of his confinement; eating food that he conflated with dog food. That people are just being treated like less than human. And all of this was happening while he had a court order for his release. And while all of this is happening, ICE agents are telling him to self-deport because he's got no chance to get out of there other than self-deport, so he's being deprived of access, and this is all in his affidavit. Myself and his immigration attorney, who's here in the courtroom today, were not able to talk to him. His immigration attorney in particular made diligent efforts to ensure compliance with the court order, and these are e-mails that are in Oscar's case. I think you've seen these. We're trying to get ahold of him. We're trying to get access to him. We're trying to bring him home. And, meanwhile, he is sleeping on the floor, if he gets to sleep at all, and he's being lied to, denied access to phone calls to call his loved ones or his attorneys. I would encourage Your Honor to read this declaration, and I would defer to the Court if you would like me to submit it formally in Oscar's own case. And the second declaration also in The Advocates
There's been lots of attention on 1 particular inexperienced & untrained govt lawyer
But I want to give a shout-out to Kira Kelley,

who focused on ICE's horrific treatment of an immigrant prisoner -- all occurring *after* the court had ordered him released
nd I know how hard it is to do that at the same time because there are very few people who are actually shedding tears when both Israeli Jews and Palestinians are dying. There are very few people who are doing that. And it feels to me, that is the essential struggle of this time, because I don’t frankly want to hear from the people who are in the streets, who are shouting about decolonizing Palestine, who do not shed a tear when Vivian Silver, a 74-year-old warrior for peace, who dedicated her life to peace, is murdered by Hamas. If your heart doesn’t break for Vivian Silver, then don’t tell me what you think my heart should be breaking for. And the same is true on the other side, for the people who are absolutely devastated by losses to Jews, but then feel it’s offensive to even report on the Palestinian children who are dying in Gaza. I’m sorry, but we have lost our moral center. What we have to do is expand our scope of moral concern to find the humanity in one another again. That
Every word of this. Except Vivian Silver is the easy one. The same should apply to *every single* Israeli civilian.
And Palestinian children are the easy ones. The same should apply to *every single* Palestinian civilian.
If you don't actually feel those losses, please, I'm begging you. Shut. Up.

remember, the anti-woke, anti-trans crowd is loud, but small and incapable of moving any needle anywhere for long...
BUT, they are supported by billionaires that amplify their voices, AND allowed to carry massacre machines in public.
so. while they deserve to be ignored, we can't ignore them...
I had a dream I created an account called Gators with Flowers but I didn’t want to scrape other people’s content so I went to Florida and handed out roses to alligators and took photos. It was a lot of fun

UnitedHealth uses AI model with 90% error rate to deny care, lawsuit alleges For the largest health insurer in the US, AI's error rate is like a feature, not a bug.
When we warn the real threat of AI is how it’s used against people in the present, not the fantasies that some day computers might think for themselves, this is exactly the kind of thing we’re talking about: health insurers using AI to deny care.

i am pleasantly amazed and dazzled that so many academics have used my book - from professors teaching it to article citations! esp chuffed as im the only one in my family without a postsecondary degree and feel mildly inferior about it

A report came out today from the UN that 20,000 Ukranian children age 0-17 were kidnapped by Russian soldiers (sexual assault never happens, right?) and shipped forcibly to Belarus. Belarus has them hostage. Nary a peep.
It’s antisemitism.

🔥 YES! New EU law to send polluters to jail.
European Union legislators reached agreement yesterday on a new directive that will see *jail sentences* of up to 10 years for the worst polluters and companies fined up to 5% of their global turnover. 👏👏👏
