I love my Innioasis player. And I still also play my original iPod classic although I don't add to it anymore. It's loaded so I leave it as is. I also have two mp3 flash drives that have a screen and operating system. My modern turntable lets me digitize records so I can take them with me anywhere.

This song will always be one of my all time favorites. It was always so much fun playing this on stage behind my doowop friends back in Dallas. Seems like a lifetime ago.

I remember going to Viva Las Vegas in its early days and seeing Ray Campi walking around the Gold Coast (yep, that long ago!) with a big grin.
Love Kermit Ruffins! Met him by chance once literally walking by in New Orleans once, he was extremely nice and chatted a few minutes.
So true. There's still good digging out there just much less of it as current record stores focus on brand new often badly pressed releases.
Mine does similar things to me.
I didn't ride freight trains but met many who did. My version of that was hard touring with a punk band in a Ryder moving truck coast to coast border to border and everything in between. My last show in that setup was in New Orleans.
Yes, I do have a favorite Tom Waits song and it's this:

Today I left my house for exactly three minutes to check the mailbox 📫 and that was it. Listened to records, watched movies and garbage TV all day. It wasn't boring, it wasn't depressing, it was awesome! I need many more days exactly like this.
Same! And I don't need yet another live Ramones or Motorhead LP, I've got plenty!
Spending the afternoon kicked back with this Proper Records Little Walter/harmonica blues box set. Some great stuff to sift through here.
Saw these guys a few times in the past and they're still at it now and always tops!

If you like good garagey surfy instrumentals and want to hear some great tracks from some good lesser-knowns, this 4-cd set is a great source. On Rock Beat Records.
Gene or Buddy? I'm Krupa all the way!

Another year another Record Store Day. I participate by sleeping in, getting up late and not going to any record stores while I look back and enjoy the records (and CDs!) I already have.
Rockabilly time!

Some Friday night jump/R&B on the home hi-fi.
Working from home today and listening to a huge r&b/jump blues playlist that just blasted this great one at me (some of you may know the more recent Nick Curran version). Love me some Roy Brown!

Was I gone? Where'd I go?
I used to love a rainy stormy night but nowadays in Tennessee every rainy day comes with house and tree destroying winds, hail, flash floods and general unnerving mayhem while you hope the roof stays intact and that you don't have to canoe yourself to safety!
From what I understand this is our new national anthem!

Seen outside the window just now at work. The train kept a rollin' with a message to Nashville!
One of my favorite psychobilly bands giving the wreckin' treatment to my favorite Howlin' Wolf song!

I love Streets of Fire specifically for this scene, The Blasters including Lee Allen in fine form!

Music is music, like it or don't, genre be damned. That said, here's a funky 1969 Bill Dogget number, Honky Tonk Popcorn! I still have the beat up old copy of this I managed to somehow aquire when I was probably 6.
