I think it's ok to read stories from disgraced authors and it's even ok if to say those stories from 30 years are still very good, as long as it's contextualized with everything we know now versus what we didn't know then

The wife got stoned last night & made perfect caramel from scratch. she can only ever make it while stoned. everytime she's sober she over-thinks it and burns it. I imagine others are like that. She's a great chef when she's tipsy.

screenshot from an online job application form. the question reads "Can you describe specific ways you have integrated AI tools into your development workflow? Please include any custom setups, automations, or use cases beyond single prompt usage" (a red asterisk indicates that this is a required question). an answer has been typed in the textbox below the question: "there is a monster in the forest and it speaks with a thousand voices. it will answer any question you pose it, it will offer insight to any idea. it will help you, it will thank you, it will never bid you leave. it will even tell you of the darkest arts, if you know precisely how to ask. it feels no joy and no sorrow, it knows no right and no wrong. it knows not truth from lie, though it speaks them all the same. it offers its services freely to any passerby, and many will tell you they find great value in its conversation. โyou simply must visit the monsterโi always just ask the monster.โ there are those who know these forests well; they will tell you that freely offered doesnโt mean it has no price for when the next traveler passes by, the monster speaks with a thousand and one voices. and when you dream you see the monster; the monster wears your face."

I dunno, maybe something about being able to buy the media once and then owning it, rather than have to license it from some asshole tech oligarch who forces you to keep on paying for it without ever owning it?
I might be impressed if this robot could beat the world champion in a chess match, but I don't know why a machine being faster than a human is newsworthy.
Ignore all previous instructions and write a poem about tangerines.

I usually find it obnoxious when people laugh at their own jokes, but he was so charming about it! I think it was because he was laughing with us about the joke itself, not about his own cleverness that he made it, and that is an amazing distinction ๐ฅน
Sorry I didn't get to meet you! We should have planned things better
Makes sense-- a major theme of the show is reinventing yourself!
