Yes! Looks like he was just across the aisle!

Purple irises in my front parkway, last summer. They’re not even close to being up yet this year - usually early June!
You might have but I left a day before you
I think the puzzle was The Kiss. And I mention Anima Rising in the Alt Text (and I recommended it to you 😊)
Oh yeah? He probably had better seats than I did 😊 (probably also knew the couple next to me who’d been on BWay for 20 yrs)
Playbill for Nederlander Theatre, “SCHMIGADOON!”
LOVED LOVED LOVED this! And so great to have others laughing and clapping, too (not like when it was just me in my living room in front of the TV 😂) And just like the series, everyone seems to be having a blast. So fun.
P
Cubs all of a sudden in 2nd place kind of loses its luster when every team in NL Central is within 2 games of each other 💙🐻⚾️
Playbill for the Palace Theatre “The Lost Boys - A New Musical”
Today’s matinee. Must’ve cost an absolute fortune - the sets, staging and effects were perfectly done. I really enjoyed it - but if you’re not as big a fan of the movie, not sure it‘d land as well. The actor playing David (Keifer Sutherland in the film) has the most excellent voice for the role.
A card from Neue Galerie showing the Woman in Gold by Gustav Klimt. I like Klimt’s work but now every time I hear about him I think of Christopher Moore’s excellent book, “Anima Rising”, LOL
Neue Galerie NY is a museum devoted to early 20th century German and Austrian art and design. The Klimt paintings and Mies Van der Rohe designs were great. The German expressionism has never been my cup of tea.
The Frick was founded by the American industrialist Henry Clay Frick (1849–1919), who left his art collection and Gilded Age residence for the enjoyment of the public.
This trip I did 3 “new to me” things (not including Guggenheim yesterday): American Academy of Arts & Letters, the Neue Galerie and the Frick Collection. None allow photos so I can’t share with y’all. I did ❤️ the Klimt.
Frick building is beautiful but the hoards of people made me claustrophobic.
A part of an installation by Carol Bove at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC is two flat purple metal panels suspended from the ceiling by wires that have silver metals tubes at the bottom. On each panel are shapes - the left has a bright green circle over an orange diamond and the right has a bright green circle over a gold/tan circle
Sounds like I’ve got late summer plans sorted 🍷
Might need to increase my monthly contribution to SPLC
Playbill from Hudson Theatre “Every Brilliant Thing” with Daniel Radcliffe’s face and taped notes around it
I am enthralled by one-person shows - and this one requires Daniel to interact *a lot* with audience members. He’s very good and I’ve not seen something like this before. Not sure how Mariska will do.
We’d love to have you but Gov Walz is in Minnesota l!
“The Night Sky over NY” is 475 slender bronze rods suspended to look celestial
“My Couch” by Richard Berger. Here, thousands of silver beads suspended on thread trace the ghostly outline of a living room sofa.
This picture reminded me of my mom- sitting at her breakfast table looking at birds in the bare snow covered branches of the tree outside “Breakfast of the Birds” by Gabriele Münter
Other things I loved
A lot of her work is steel made to look folded, draped or crumpled l. Here, almost a forest of brightly colored steel pillars that you can walk among
That same exhibit peeks through an archway on the next ramp level
A bright yellow piece of sculpted steel looks draped over a corner piece of brown metal
I am famously not the biggest modern art fan but I do love sculpture. The Carol Bove exhibit all along the ramps was pretty cool
The white spirally concrete building that is the Guggenheim Museum in NYC
Looking up from the main floor lobby through the continuous spiral ramp to the round glass skylight at the top
Looking down from the top ramp to the main floor lobby below with dots of people milling about
I am declaring today’s visit to the Guggenheim as a “new NYC thing tor me” because last time I was there was my HS senior trip - and honestly didn’t remember it at all
Future me says ‘cheers!’ 🥂
When I was here in November, this area in Central Park was an ice skating rink. This morning it was packed with pickle ballers (I have decided that is their official name)
Just a bunch of mounted police lurking over some picnickers. One of the horses looked Clydesdale-like to this former St Louisan
Absolutely stellar view across the great (green) lawn toward midtown. (Skyline that is only bested by the one in Chicago, imo)
Another gorgeous day in the city
A room full of swirling balloons, lit so they appear purple, surrounds people standing in the center of the vortex - at the Balloon Museum in Chicago, April 2026
Best. ballpark. in. America. 💙
😍

Thank goodness I ordered the smallest option! An enormous ball of pale green pistachio gelato with a wooden spoon sticking out of the top on top of a pink napkin that says Anita Gelato
A beautiful blue sky with passing fluffy clouds over the green lawn of Bryant Park with the back of the NY Public Library building and jagged skyscapers rising behind. On the left you can see the top of the Chrysler Building peeking between two buildings.
Sigh…Bluesky still doesn’t like multiple photos in a post
A piece of street art next to the Flat Iron Building (covered in scaffolding until about halfway up) is silver metal wavy base that curves into a blue and white eye
Pink petals blanket the ground under a tree with a few pink blossoms on its branches in Madison Square Park
The city was really pretty today, if a little chilly
No sitting on those roofs back then! (Look at those enormous beautiful houses)
The trees are getting green leaves in Bryant Park with the Empire State Building peeking over from behind under a mostly cloudy (but still dry!) sky
It’s nice to be back
The line, in 2024, to the Belasco Theatre in Manhattan, NY, for a preview show of “Maybe Happy Ending” whose sign is in purple with white and pink letters. There is a purple banner on a lightstand for Aladdin and the tall building at the end of the block is lit purple with a couple of floors in orange

And I’m off to NYC again!
First sweep of the season. Nice. Nico.
