Ummm that vibe is kind of why the Liberals came back from the cliff’s edge in the last election. You may not like the taste (& I’m not sure about me) but there’s definitely an appetite for it.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

There is no amount of money, oil, or gold that is worth more than having bees, trees, and clean water.
Tesla. Disney. CVS Health. United Airlines. PayPal. Billions in profits. $0 in federal corporate income taxes.
That money should be funding schools, healthcare, and public services.
This is why people are mad as hell.
The effective federal corporate income tax rate:
1950: 50%
1990: 25%
2020: 13%
Stop asking "but how we will pay for it?" Restore the corporate tax rate.
That is how we will pay for it.
The walk to school, the final frontier
Forgiving property taxes for 75 years is not something that will likely have any impact on day-to-day rents; unlike, for example, embedding higher durability and sustainability standards to create better resulting value that extends well beyond 75 years 3/
Instead of cuts, if Carney was smart he'd invest $500 million in mRNA research in Canada, propelling us into a leading position in medical research.
Think the scales are already unbalanced in favor of the fossil fuel industry? Hold my oil can.
GOP lawmakers — using bills drafted by groups connected to Leonard Leo — are passing laws to immunize oil & gas companies from being held accountable.

Britain’s electricity is currently 91% zero carbon!
Every unit of domestic renewable and ultra low carbon energy we generate means a safer and more secure today and a better 🇬🇧 tomorrow.
"Eighty-five countries have sought a roadmap to phasing out fossil fuels. A conference this month offers hope they could unite," write Mark Hertsgaard and Kyle Pope of @coveringclimatenow.org

Building proper public infrastructure that can withstand the challenges of downtown Ottawa is expensive — but the alternative is unacceptable. Public washrooms are a human right and a basic need.

For military contractors, victory is won every day.
These are the new contracts and contract supplements awarded by the Defense Department on a single day: April 2.
They total $2,932,835,666.

Earth and Moon from DSCOVR NASA's Earth Polychromatic Imaging Camera (EPIC) aboard the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR) satellite captured this unique view of the Moon as it moved in front of the sunlit side of Earth last month. This view shows the fully illuminated “dark side” of the moon that is never visible from Earth. Ian Regan processed this version of the image to account for the Moon's motion. NASA / NOAA / Ian Regan
I hadn't seen this before. This is pretty remarkable.

The richest 0.1 percent of the global population are hiding nearly $3 trillion in offshore accounts to evade taxes — more than the wealth held by the entire bottom half of humanity.
It would take about $93 billion per year to eradicate extreme hunger by 2030.
Taxing the rich is a global necessity.
That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress beforehand, or our allies, or coherently explain to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers.
Reminder that Congress has the power to stop this.
I have a dream that one day all the people will realize they are free. Hemp can save the world. Renewable energy is cheaper than oil. The super battery is real and being sold in a single motor vehicle. Room temperature super conductor is possible. Scarcity is by design, rarity raises prices.

We've subsidised oil companies for decades as we "need" their products to run society, but now we dont, we need to use those same subsidies for heat pumps, EV's, solar panels, turbines, bio mass what ever else we can use to generate electric, it's only fair, we'd get to "net 0" real fast that way.
