Oh hey, return of the slow-motion car crash dream to wake me up. Haven’t seen you in a while, buddy. I feel terrible, thanks.

A book of letters by my bed contains this intrusion from the college: “We extend farther than you do and will get you. Sincerely yours, Jack Spicer and the Invisible World”
Well, you try to sleep with this sort of thing going on ten years before you were born.
3.5 hours sleep again. Allergies.
I'm going to have a Fresca, lie down, and see what dreams may come.
Tangentially related, I think that the dollar Grant Morrison got for every Arkham Asylum hardback was taken directly out of the glue for the spine.
Apparently the other action figure Alan Moore vs. Oscar Wilde picture I put up a few days ago was part 2 of this series. Sorting by Creation Date! Computers are odd. With this first part, it feels like the creators thought that Kids in the Hall sketch with Buddy Cole and Oscar Wilde needed some comics content. And Robot Chicken energy. Caption: AT THAT VERY MOMENT, IN A PUB IN LONDON, ENGLAND... Moore: I'M ALAN MOORE, AND YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, WOLVERINE. AS THE GREAT WRITER OSCAR WILDE ONCE SAID, THE ONLY THING WORSE THAN BEING TALKED ABOUT IS NOT BEING TALKED ABOU--' Wilde: I NEVER SAID THAT...! Moore: WHAT?!? NO ONE CONTRADICTS ALAN MOORE! Moore attempts to glass Wilde, who blocks with his cane. SMASH! Wilde: HA! Wilde does a flying kick to Moore's jaw. WHOK! Wilde: HAVE AT YOU! Moore: KIMOTA! Wilde avoids lightning beams with a JUMP!
After the events of part 2, https://bsky.app/profile/batmasterson.batfu.ink/post/3mjd3ip3s6c2c Wilde has (x x) for eyes. Moore: AND THAT'S WHAT'LL HAPPEN TO THE NEXT MOTHER&%#ER WHO ASKS ME ABOUT 'WATCHMEN 2'!
Inset circle portrait of action figure Alan Moore. Moore: WHAT'D I TELL YOU? OSCAR EFFIN' WILDE! The photo comic has an END

Am I crying?
Well, it wouldn't surprise me if I was.
I know Dan as a publisher, a party host, and the cousin of a friend. I would have never guessed he wrote for DC, but I bet I knew it back when it was happening.
Aha! www.imdb.com/title/tt0604...
It’s from one of the episodes of Homicide: LOTS where they couldn’t stay in police headquarters and Pembleton gets very uptight about the old-fashioned building they need to hold interrogations in. There’s another shot from there that looks like Braugher yelling at a steam punk wall Dalek.
Bedazzle that!
C'mon, that's a series of comic books. Do it on hard mode. One comic book. One 2-hour movie.
All mine are by Grant Morrison.
Otherwise, the Christine Spar Grendel arc, sure.
No.
Cook, baby.

Oh dear. You see, at one time, children did not take the promotional gambits of comical book companies with as much respect for craft and intent as we do today... Because no one from Marvel can keep a leash on ideas, they had promo ads for their Iraq War era 'political' puncher "CIVIL WAR" wherein you'd see a hero and the Civil War logo and the legend "I'M WITH WONDER MAN" or whoever and think to yourself "My concerns about mass shootings and government surveillance and institutionalized bigotry are motivated by fashion. I'll help polarize an issue by putting this on my MySpace profile. For sales!" Anyway, the ads became a template for wags to make gags. This one has the legend "I'M WITH STUPID" which makes no sense as the hero isn't even Alfred E. Neuman.

KIRK: Uhura. Can you modify the Probe's signals accounting for density and temperature and salinity factors?
UHURA: I'll try, sir... I think I have it.
KIRK: And this is what it would sound like underwater?
UHURA: Yes sir. Wong Kar Wai films.
SPOCK: Fascinating.
Battlefields are oceans now.

"Like it's all just us, in here, together. And we're all we've got."
Well, I suppose this sort of awkwardness is the sort of thing one invites when one makes a place for comedy and art. Adam Hughes! pencilled this bawdy slapstick Power Girl gag circa 2006, and here we are 20 years later knowing that the man's getting treated right now for some look-you-in-the-eye-serious cancer. I'm just going through this images folder in "Date Created" order. It's all gyres and gimbles, man. The visual gag is that Power Girl's left breast has escaped confinement through the hole in her costume and WAP! OW!ed her in the face. The gag is enhanced by AH!'s trademark realism and beauty standards. The caption is "after the 1🕕th time POWER GIRL decided to finally to[sic] change her costume..." Adam's not a writer, and we wish him well.
