+my friend and I would see each other in the school halls just cringing at each other with every step. I was so glad we did it, because it was so fun, but oh did I feel it! We also lost her dad early on in the ride, so it was just us 2 teenagers out there in the crowds on our own.π

That's awesome! Years ago, like 1986 years ago (I was a junior in high school) I did the 5 Borough Bike Tour (not even sure if they still have that any more-I grew up in Northern NJ) with a friend. I still remember how rough those slow, steady inclines on all the bridges were. That whole week after+
Oh! So fun! My husband is from that area! Is the course as hilly as I think it might be.π¬
I'll look for that one too! Thanks!
No! I haven't! I will have to look for it! I have been so inspired by just watching the marathons my girls have run in. The whole marathon vibe is such a supportive environment.
Honestly, you have to do a second one, because if you are anything like me, you loosen up for the second one and just fly by the seat of everyone's pants.π
Also, the younger one may or may not be encouraged by the older one, the whole "monkey see, monkey do."
Hang in there! You are doing great!
I know it's not the same thing but I've noted some companies, Amex Travel comes to mind, that have brought their telephone customer service operations back to the US.
They're often using people, I've noted mostly women, working from home.
I wish there were *paid* internships and fellowships created exclusively for stay at home moms hoping to re-enter the workforce. Bonus for being remote/mostly remote, maybe hybrid to allow for networking.
Which marathon? Both my girls run marathons and halfs. I have a pretend goal that maybe someday I will walk a marathon.π

Virginia is the latest front in an unprecedented coast-to-coast redistricting war, with voters on Tuesday set to determine whether to accept or reject a Democratic plan to dramatically redraw the state's congressional maps and help shape the midterm elections. https://cnn.it/41H8H7P
I was just lucky!

This war is so damn confusing. Itβs why we shouldnβt let drunks and dementia patients run it.
I have so many thoughts about this but mostly I appreciate Shana saying it. It means a lot to know people see this reality.
Good thing I got this quickly, because I have things to do today!

I am again asking people to pay attention to what has happened to our National Science Foundation and by extension thousands of researchers across the country.
The devastation is ongoing and worthy of continued outcry to officials and journalists. π§ͺ

I would love it if those of you who do not have library cards will apply for one at your local branch during #NationalLibraryWeek. Then let me know about it. π
Thank you :). Even if you don't like me personally, you can still read my books at your local library π€£
Seeing all the different things schools are doing right now to motivate students to try their best on testing says a lot, I think, about how divorced they are from being meaningful for students.
That's what I did, and clearly that did not end well!πππ
It's a good thing I decided today was going to be a lazy Sunday, because that took 40 minutes of my life I can't get back. Way too long.π€¦πΌββοΈπ€¦πΌββοΈπ€¦πΌββοΈ
