Very true! I imagine a scoring winger might be easier to pick up during free agency though compared to a 2nd line Centre or Top 4 D.

I know same here, he’s been effective, though on an expiring contract… And with the cap going up, I’m sure he’s looking for a significant raise. If you could keep him under 4.5 mil per year though, it’d be great to keep him.

#Canucks may be weaker this year, but you’d have to think this move goes a long way towards shaping the team in the years to come. Cap flexibility and the possibility they flip some more pieces. Give it some time and I think we’ll see a dynamic bunch.

This whole #Canucks trade thing is that part at the end of every reality tv show where they cut to commercial before someone’s name is revealed, except this time the names are in one of those matryoshka dolls, and they dramatically cut to commercial only to find there are just more dolls to open

Batch and Shorty’s worst nightmare is upon them. 2 Elias Pettersson’s in the lineup is this much closer.

Not saying this is a solution to the #Canucks woes this year, but it’d hurt a lot less with one of these bad boys in each hand.
