The amount of times I have said “Welcome to [wherever I am], Bitch!” is kind of embarrassing.

The OC is *the* ultimate comfort show. Well done. This is my other one, with admittedly very different vibes.

It is good but not great. Lots to admire but the second half didn’t really work for me as well as I was hoping for. Will be curious what you think!

It’s intermission and we haven’t seen Massachusetts, let alone Boston City Hall, even once. No one’s sang “Sweet Caroline” or driven recklessly .

Still half a movie left. We’ll see if anyone even shows up with iced Dunks in the back half.

About to go see a three-and-a-half hour movie about Boston City Hall or something. I’ll let you know how it goes. #TheBrutalist

Much of the "is AI art?" questions are really "is AI communication?" but in disguise. AI can make art because a urinal factory can make art. If AI makes art, it's through designation, not intent. AI is a one-sided simulation of communication processed exclusively by the viewer. There's no exchange.

Good piece, but I hate the knee-jerk media bashing from the OP (not you, I know, but still!)

A bunch of outlets covered all the executive actions. A quick Google turned up comprehensive articles from NYT, WashPost, MSNBC, Time, NPR, etc. I was gonna link 'em all, but character limits.

It has snowed in DC (lightly, but definitely snow) before it snowed in Maine. What a world.

There are currently only 22 films streaming on Netflix made before 1980 and not a single one made before 1960, with the oldest film on the platform currently being PSYCHO. I know I’m a broken record but: buy physical media, support your local library, etc etc

Media’s political divide plays out in Maine Local media in the state of Maine has emerged as an unlikely and asymmetric battlefield for big American political money.

The "purchase of the Maine newspapers represent an attempt to preserve existing local news outlets that cover local stories and public figures across the political spectrum. The Leo-backed Maine Wire is a smaller-scale, much more overtly political effort to put a conservative spin on local news"

I have wondered, at this point, whether it's just about choosing out a landing spot and sticking with it until such time that a post-Twitter victor emerges.

I like Bluesky best, but Thread is looking more and more appealing, but not sure if that's true for the paticular niche you're seeking.

I saw the Blue Super Moon. The only thing cooler was being able to see Saturn (and it’s rings!) with my birding scope. Not a bad night for looking up.

Spanish Soccer Federation Says It Will Sue Over Player’s Account of Kiss The group said it was defending the honor of its president, Luis Rubiales, who kissed the player, Jennifer Hermoso. Players have vowed not to take the field until he resigns.

Spanish FA president grabbed a player’s head and forcibly kissed her without consent during the WWC medal ceremony.

Now, the fed is SUING *the player* instead of firing him. Women footballers and the women’s game deserve far better than creeps like Rubiales and the Spanish FA protecting him.

FilmSky: I wanted to see “Lamb” (Valdimar Jóhannsson, ‘21) when it came out but I missed it and only got around to watching it today. I’ve been saying for years, and will continue to say, it’s a crime that Noomi Rapace isn’t a Hollywood megastar. 📽️
