12½ years ago, I made a map of all the buildings in the Netherlands. Unexpectedly, people loved it!
Ever since, I have been wanting to make an updated version of the map. Newer data, higher resolution, more interactive! I never got around to it, until last week: bertspaan.nl/buildings

Node.js is moving to one major release per year starting with Node 27! 🚀
✅ Simpler: Every release becomes LTS.
✅ Predictable: Version numbers now align with the year.
✅ New: A 6-month Alpha channel for early testing.

We just launched the Open Source Endowment, the first endowment dedicated to supporting Open Source maintainers, with $693,000 raised already.
The world depends on Open Source, but making our ecosystem sustainable is a complex task. I hope that, with community consultation, the Endowment can help 🙏

Who do we need to lobby to to make @github.com add a "Post on Bluesky" button here?

In graph theory, there are algorithms that find the shortest path between two nodes. I made one with pure CSS (including the graph drawing).
Drag the nodes, and the shortest path will update in real-time!

Terra Draw now uses trusted publishing 😎 Easier than I imagined to set up
I tried v7 on Terra Draw and results were interesting - dropped compilation times from about 3.8s to about 0.8s. Weirdly some runs take in the region of 0.07s however 🤯🤔 Would like to understand more about what's happening there
Starting with February 2026, @jsonsingh.com is planning on starting a monthly "London Geo Meetup" for anyone working or interested in geospatial. Looking at a mixed audience of students, professionals, academia and anyone in anything spatial.
