Ok that's it. Aside from sporadic squash/cucumber/melon and herb planting this summer I am done.

Gotta find a home for the eggplants sometime this week. I put mom's neglected Everglades tomatoes in grow bags as well.

I do have a big gay head.

Well, ahem, I sort am a big deal. 🌈 Spotted outside Hope Cathedral here outside the gayborhood.

Earlier is fine, though the soil will have a harder time staying together. Later and you risk stressing and/or damaging the plant due to needing to break apart the roots.

This is why I decided I had to forego resting today.

This eggplant is at its goldilocks. The roots are nice and dense enough to where it's holding soil together without being densely root-bound. This is when you want to transplant.

So yeah, tip for new gardeners, when you water seedlings and starts, make sure the water is getting into the roots and not just going around them in the pot.

Since this just started today hopefully they make a full recovery by the morning. If not I might have to bring a watering can and do it again in the morning.

Man, I haven't seen any plants in a state like this since I started. Some plants have dried out so thoroughly within the last two days that the soil where the roots are will not accept water.

I have them in a tray with a gallon of water. I need to be careful not to have it sit overnight though.

I have had exactly 1 day of rest the last 31 days.

Here's my one small nice thing to say this week. My first tomatoes beginning to fruit.

Yeah, as anticipated, going to be doing a ton of work both my two days off this weekend. My eggplants are going to get root bound if I put them off another week. They were extremely stressed today because water hasn't been soaking in completely.

Alas, is what it is.

A waterspout just moved over Puget Sound and was visible from Seattle. It appeared to be spawned by a mesoscale convective vortex.
