it was wild when my FL students did it but these private school kids really should know better like lmao you're gonna list all your accomplishments in this email but you still hit me up like we're besties? are you stupid?

it's just like.. if someone tells you over and over how to address them why would u not just.. do that (i know why BUT STILL), but also if you have never met or interacted with someone AND YOU'RE ASKING FOR A FAVOR then why wouldn't you defer to the most respectful option ????

i think i always just went with "dr [whatever]" if i had never spoken to them before, but something else the students here do is that no matter HOW i sign my emails or literally say in class how to address me, they always hit me with a "professor [lastname]" which i do hate a whole lot

literally just "hi [kattyl]!" we are not friends bro

i'm REALLY not the type of person to be up in arms about titles but a student just emailed me to ask for a favor but only addressed me by my first name............ like hey man, are you brand new on this earth?
