His “look what you made me do and you better give me what I want” column today is a beautiful follow up to this

First day as an infrastructure engineer at Bluesky. They let me put a piece of bologna in the CD drive and nothing bad has happened so far
Perfectly stated. An incredible development honestly.
Wow this was a great read!
AI Trump refusing to endorse JD 😘👌
The article was also much more even handed than I expected and heavily quoted protest organizers! Not really a hit piece at all.
I think some of them really have evolved and shouldn’t really be caricatured based on essentially prior political lives, charen being the biggest counter example imo. Glad Tim took over the daily pod, think they’re in a far better place now than they would have been with Sykes still doing it.
Unfortunately lots of responses to Zach entirely focusing on her political history when you can just point at huge flaws in the piece itself as you do. It’s kind of amusing to juxtapose the seeming ideological evolution of Kristol vs Charen at the Bulwark.
Isaac Chotiner: You say the two cats who live in your house are "Jerks" and you don't care for them
Me: Absolutely. They are the burdens of my life
Chotiner: It seems you spent an hour searching for special food for them and paid more for it than you do even for your own food.
Me: That's--Hold on,
they are calling it the scotus cuck chair
So glad to hear someone else say this. Still like them a lot but between that episode and their Platner interest/credulity I am finding myself starting to value their perspectives less. Not sure if it’s a remaining on Twitter bubble thing or what.
I'll admit it: I was genuinely a guy who, when murphy vs ncaa was decided, thought sports betting legalization would be basically fine and not cause any major problems and I was wrong about it.
Coppins apparently feeling emasculated by Nate Silver for his poor betting choices.
www.theatlantic.com/magazine/202... very long/not really new info for those that have spent much time around people that gamble, but does contain this great excerpt

We got butt wearables now?
Seriously I am losing my mind about how popular this dumb post/thread is.
I really did think the Riyadh Comedy Festival would help bring peace to the Middle East
Anti white racism as a white person feels a little cringe these days but anti semitism still has that little frisson of naughtiness that makes it fun!
Ross Douthat @DouthatNYT · 12h Lesser of two evils, art of the possible, blah blah blah, but all of the factions that have strong agency in our society right now seem profoundly dangerous. I don't know which one is the most dangerous but none of them should be trusted with power. Ross Douthat @DouthatNYT · 10h Fundamental factional energy -- Silicon Valley: Faust bargaining with the devil RW populism: mob boss in a tinfoil hat The Cathedral: Voluntary human extinction
Ahhh yes still the lesser of two evils for this moron
Multiple “war fighters” too
Where are you on Warnock?
Yes we absolutely can
the only place this should happen is academic conferences
Yeah. Not sure if I’m representative but was the least interesting Super Bowl prior to the game for me in a while and the game kind of went how I expected it to and was just pretty meh overall. Fun halftime tho!
Conor is the apex predator of that style
Look, he hasn’t denied it.
More than 34,000 Minnesotans signed up to be trained as ICED observers with various activist groups in recent weeks, many of them since Jan. 7, when a federal agent shot and killed Renée Good.
They said "free speech" and "academic freedom" but never believed in either and now in texas you need a permission slip to mention race in class and they're fine with it. Might not have worked if people with large platforms weren't furious about marginal increases of black people in their offices
The guy who’s favorite columnist was/is David brooks? Noooooooooo
Actual sign of a “vibe shift”: Ross Douthat has recently made a hard pivot back to trying to seem like the “reasonable conservative” as opposed to the open propagandist he was all of 2025.
