Here's a portrait sculpt I did on Zbrush.

I did a lot of improvising during the process, moving away from the basic sketch.
I liked experimenting
with the spiral and snake brushes and the movement tool, to start with organic shapes, you can get some really interesting design shapes with 😀😀.
