"We get the occasional attack from Badniks now and then, but yes, it is fairly peaceful here... it's nice."

Espio said, smiling.

"I know Vector has talked about how Vanilla is in his DMs, but what could he possibly mean by that...?"

Whilst on the walk to the nearest place they could get something to eat, the chameleon wasn't sure on what topic of conversation should be next, silently taking in the peaceful surroundings.

"I know a place where we can get a hot beverage and something light to eat."

Espio said, laughing slightly at the embarrassment on Sally's face due to her hunger.

"Follow me."

The chameleon said, encouraging her to start following him.

"No no, it's okay, Sally. You don't owe me any favours, really."

Espio replied, returning the smile back to Sally. The chameleon was simply helping with reassuring the chipmunk that no harm would come to her.

"Of course, Sally."

Luckily, there was no one around to spot them right now. It was just the two of them.

"Oh... I, uh, I'm sorry to hear that."

The chameleon expressed genuine sympathy for her current situation.

"Ah, I see."

Espio said, raising a brow with a quizzical expression. He himself didn't feel awkward about this encounter. At least, not yet anyway.

Espio turned around, somehow instantly recognising the voice that had called out to him, turning around to see the chipmunk standing in front of him.

"Sally? Oh my, it's been a while, hasn't it? How are you?"

The chameleon said with a warm smile, although unaware that she's from a different world.

Espio didn't feel the bluntness of Douchebag's tone, still erring on the side of caution as she looked back at him, unsure of what to say next. He wasn't the best at making small talk, especially with people he was unfamiliar with.

"A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Douchebag."

Espio said, returning an equally stoic expression as he remained seated.

Espio watched as the woman left his lap, gaze not breaking for a second.

"I wouldn't it say it was horrible, per se, just... unexpected."

He replied, his voice still calm and composed as a playful chuckle escaped his lips.

"My name is Espio. It is a pleasure to meet you, ma'am."

Well, this seems like an... interesting first encounter. Not that Espio is complaining much about it, mind you. Locking eyes with the woman in front of him, he finally spoke, his tone low and quiet.

"Greetings, ma'am. I don't believe we have met before?"
