Matt Damon playing a 14th century French knight that looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Mullet. Beard. Smells like horse shit, pine tar, and cigarette smoke.

Matt Damon while playing Odysseus who also looks like a third baseman for the Phillies. Long, skinny beard. Smells like horseshit, pine tar, and perhaps Mediterranean herbs.

Every time Matt Damon takes on a period role he ends up looking like a third baseman for the Phillies.

No worries! I am 100% on the side of Games Crit/Media, I just see it as a similar, if smaller, foundational flashpoint in our modern paradoxical era where "no one" trusts games media but also games are the only entertainment medium where reviews impact sales. They need you to tell them what to hate.

I compare it to Gamergate or anti-intellectualism because of what it represents: The "Adversary Gamers" writ large (conservative, mostly male, sexist, racist) do not need to understand what they're looking at if what it's seeing supports its terrible ideas. The truth doesn't matter, never has.

Yes, but all of that being true can't change how the story was recieved at large by the gaming landscape. There were even stories about it in Polygon and Kotaku, I think, and though multiple outlets tried to spread the reality of what that clip was it was too late, the damage had been done.

I think if Games Crit Media had more examples of guys like @andycortez.cool (people who are demonstrably skilled at the games they review and can showcase this) we could walk back some of this damage and maybe treat Games Media more humanely and less like people with a bucket stuck on their head.

I wanna make it clear that I am not joking, this is not a bit, but the "professional video game reviewer guy not understanding the concept of a double jump in the Cuphead tutorial" clip did irrevocable damage to the credibility of the entire profession that it has honestly never recovered from.

It's funny that everyone is going ga ga over the Bloodborne animated film when real heads know we've had a real Bloodborne movie for 25 years

it always surprises me when people react really viscerally to the idea of destroying systems and institutions that either no longer serve us (and can't be reformed), or never existed to serve humanity in general. putting the destruction of a system on the table shouldn't be a radical position

It's crazy that we have the Persona series with 30 million game sold worldwide and people are trying this with Pragmata instead.

The first season of this show was in 2019. It's been 8 years, and the show had a FINALE! This movie feels like an epilogue no one asked for AT BEST. Also Star Wars stocks have never been lower, getting mogged by DUNE, getting mogged by Star Trek, Star Wars is fucking OVER!!!

All you need to know to understand how horrible the discourse around this game is going to be is that the subreddit for Pragmata was SHUT DOWN weeks ago because the lolicons and pedos cannot get enough of Diana. She is literally the Lolita of video games, it's DIRE!
