A scene from in the VIP pit of a Lancer mech duel in the Grand Arena of Throne Karrakis. Colorful pennants sway in the breeze high above the stadium. Huge shades that look like translucent petals shade the spectators, seated in the sandy white gallery stands. The architecture flows and curves rather than being rectilinear or purely circular. Pointed archways from the main arcade level. Ornate fluorescent light chandeliers light up the shaded stands. On the Field, a massive black Lancer frame lunges forward with a black broadsword, boosted forward with back-mounted rockets. A red ponytail flows from its helm. Parrying the blow in a shower of sparks is a sage green Lancer frame with a curved scimitar-like sword. It pirouettes on digitigrade legs, its blue cape tails swirling in the arena dust. It is adorned with golden filigree. In the pit, two factions face off, each representing their frame in demeanor and attire. On the left, matched with the black knight mecha, a cadre of nobles (perhaps from the House of Stone), all in black and red and metal and furs, stand haughtily. The main one raises her whiskey glass in smug superiority. She has dark skin and an undercut hairstyle of red hair. Next to her is an older man, bald and bearded, with dark skin and a grumpy expression. On the right, representing perhaps the House of Glass, a rakish young noble lifts his wine glass in mocking salute. He has twin swords on his belt and an orange cape. Next to him is a beautiful noblewoman in a dress covered in rose-like flowers. a chain veil covers her face. Behind them, vidscreens show alternate angles of the mech duel, including shots from the cockpits of each frame, showing the determination and effort of each Lancer that pilots them.

An Everest-pattern Lancer frame, destroyed in battle, kneeling in a snowy, ashy battlefield in the middle of a ruined city under an overcast sky. The pilot huddles near a portable heater nestled between the frame's legs.

a lancer frame in a Karrakin Trade Barony noble house. Its kneeling on a plinth, against a backdrop of a golden relief mural of the Baronic families history. Its sword is emblazoned with the quote: "Do not wield me without reason, nor sheathe me without honor." In front, the royal scions play with a ball, running past it. Their worried nursemaids and a nanny drone follow the children in a panic.

Phenomenal paint scheme! The light blue with light brown bases with a hint of green from the vespid really give a tropical vibe imo! As for points, just mathing off the top of the dome this is only roughly around 700 I'm fairly sure. If you need any list building advice I'd be happy to help!

Hmm, I think you gotta focus on 2 things: progress and enjoyment. even if you only do a few lines, that's better than no lines so any progress is progress! And enjoyment insofar as look at the piece and think on what you enjoy about it or could enjoy about - colors, lines, or just finishing it!

Thank you so much for all the work you've put into this comic InCase! When I was first making the switch over to 2D from 3D, I was tracing panels of this thing to learn anatomy as I do believe yours is some of the best in the biz. Celebrate the accomplishment of ending this, you deserve it!

Won't let that stop me though, it just annoys me. What, I'll not be like the King himself and draw the woman of my dreams (built like a brickhouse and tall as one too) cause of some puritan bigwig nutjobs?? You must be out of your damn minds

Isn't it weird that as I improve in my art and get more into making comics, the less I can follow in the footsteps of those before me - from Kirby to Hughes - by trying to have some raunchy fun with it.

If they're too skinny my poor characters will look like they're not being fed!!!

Men should be buffed and women should be vavoom!!

Being a Gundam/mecha nerd with the robots especially is hilarious because it's like being a plane or train nerd except with even fewer practical applications or uses

Sir Bors the Younger, he should have way more fame! He, Galahad and Perceval went on the Grail Quest; the other two died, only Bors returned. He ruled Camelot after Arthur's death!

Dude don't get enough respect.

Although I have been trying to draw everyday, been struggling to actually respect what I'm putting to paper. Thankfully a kick in the ass from a friend reminded me what art's about: making cool ass shit. So here's a rough Tau battlesuit because mechs are cool as shit

An illustration of a spiny, menacing mechanical being lunging towards a futuristic human soldier in a sandstorm

The Shrike meets Colonel Kassad in the sands of Hyperion, from Dan Simmons 'Hyperion Cantos'.

This was an excellent series of books from an author I would later learn had cruel personal politics, which seemed to run counter to many of the themes in his work.

Don't worry bud, not just what you draw but also how you draw shows your influences no matter what you may think. After all, you wouldn't be drawing what you draw without said inspirations.

Never give up!
