yeah i was in the er literally bawling, telling them i am not sick my face feels like it going to explode any minute for it to turn out to be a literal chemical burn in my nose causing my sinus cavity to get infected. That there was more types of sinus infections then just the stuffy nose kind.

So today i learned the hard way that you can get chemical burns in your nose which leads to a new form of sinus infection. Which makes your face feel like like it is about to explode. 😭

As someone who has seen the Challenger and Columbia watching Artemis II land just now was the biggest relief with tons of emotions. Congrats to Nasa and the Artemis crew.

It is a wild ride how trends have been developed through all of our history. It always starts doing one thing different and we all mimic it including accents.

Decades was based in Southern California. We still see it today even. So people from other places think this what you are actually suppose to sound like and started to mimic it. Entertainment really molds how societies act. From fashion to even mimic of accents. It is actually a fun rabbit hole

It isn't really stealing as much as alot of our entertainment comes from Southern California. Even alot of movies and shows have been based off the region. They want to be more like thier favorite characters or actors. It got to be really prevalent in the 70s when almost every teenage movie for..

Oh lord it could also be people faking it. I have seen alot of people since really the 90s try to mimic the SoCal "valley" accent to sound cool. But it does come across grating to the ears. Like I get our accents tend to be higher pitch but it isn't that high pitched.

Depends is it NorCal or SoCal? Also please do not smack me in the face. If it is SoCal which I have that accent maybe it is because we always sound lively even when super serious? Or the fact we don't pronounce Ts most of the time or it could be the slang.

Since i never got to know my grandma this is just hypothetical. Of course but maybe why on my family these type of things are not a taboo subject and openly discussed in a healthy manner.

Though now that you mention it my mom's whole female side is like this. Maybe since my grandma was an orphan who had to learn this all on her own with no one shaming her during that time. She took it upon herself to make sure all of her daughters knew what it was and what to do.

For real. You of all people know how strained my relationship is with my mom especially. This thread was a group of women in my age group that were called wh*res for having thier first period. I was like da fuck i was given cookies, pads and a little mom/daughter celebration. Why are women so mean.

My parents did fail me in numerous ways, the trauma is real. Alot of healing had to happen with alot of family therapy. Though I now understand why my therapist was shocked to find out when it came to puberty along with sex we were actually healthy about it. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

This started when I was 7 having these conversations. By the time it happened I was ready for it. I knew what to do and what to ask for. I wasn't scared of it by any means. I knew fully what it meant. I texted my mom thank you for it this morning. Forever grateful for those conversations.

My mom might have been a horrible parent by alot of means. However I will say this she was the literal GOAT about having healthy conversations about puberty and sex. I read a thread today of women being punished for having their first period. I got cookies and resources with healthy conversations.
