The Cadaver Heads Tale~ Some final concept designs (and the early lineup page) for the dissected heads from @realgdt.bsky.social amazing FRANKENSTEIN! The approved designs were sculpted by the incredible team at AAFX Studio (you can see pics of the final props on their insta profile too)!

The Creatures Other Tale~ concept designs for @realgdt.bsky.social amazing FRANKENSTEIN! Early on while Guillermo & Mike Hill were creating the incredible design of the Creature, I did explorations on how the Creatures skin would damage & some early costumes with @katehawleycostume.bsky.social
The Gargoyle’s Tale~ concept designs for the Tower's gargoyles & drainage spout the Creature escapes from for @realgdt.bsky.social incredible FRANKENSTEIN! Inspired by real gargoyles of the period, we kept in the mythological motif of the labs medusa with the drainage spouts “vomiting harpy nuns”!
The Tower’s Tale~ some concept designs done for Victor’s Lab Tower from @realgdt.bsky.social FRANKENSTEIN! Based on the Wallace Monument in Scotland we visited during early scouting. Details and form would be worked up over revisions & the final design built into an amazing (huge) practical model.
The Frozen Horse’s Tale~ concept designs for @realgdt.bsky.social amazing FRANKENSTEIN! In 2022 I started work with Guillermo on keyframes and concepts before production started, including the battlefield frozen horse. Later during production I designed it to be built life size as a prop for filming
The Medusa’s Tale~ concept designs for @realgdt.bsky.social amazing FRANKENSTEIN and the Medusa crest / entryway to Victors lab! The Guillermo approved final design was rendered by great digital sculptor Maria Panfilova & built full size by incredible sculptors of production designer Tamara Deverell
The Dark Angel’s Tale~ concept design for Victor’s statue from @realgdt.bsky.social amazing FRANKENSTEIN! The full size statue was beautifully sculpted by the great Ruben Orozco Loza! With the nightmare version designed by @katehawleycostume.bsky.social brought to life by @mrxfx.bsky.social and ILM!
Along with the coffins I worked on the design for the family grave and its sculpted details, the shape of the gravestone would also hint to Victors water tower lab in silhouette with the “sphinx” feet motif too.
The Coffin’s Tale~ more designs for @realgdt.bsky.social FRANKENSTEIN! The coffins were based on real Fisk coffins of the time & great ref pitched by awesome Costume Designer @katehawleycostume.bsky.social (an example of wonderful collab between depts) & worked up to final design through art dept.
~later working with the wonderful production designer Tamara Deverell and her amazing team keeping them on model as they were beautifully built full size and also working on concepts for the destroyed lab pieces and smaller test version and stand.
The Lab Battery’s Tale~ more concept designs for @realgdt.bsky.social FRANKENSTEIN! In early 2022 before production started I worked with Guillermo on keyframes & designs including the lab and battery towers! The approved designs stuck from the early phase and would carry over to the final film.
The Flayed Man’s Tale~ another concept design for @realgdt.bsky.social incredible FRANKENSTEIN! Always a wonderful collaboration with Guillermo and the amazing Mike Hill, working over in-progress body sculpt pics & trying different head/ jaw designs (originally a screaming skull in early concept)!
The Cadaver’s Tale~ Some concept designs I did for the animated cadaver & props/keyframe from @realgdt.bsky.social incredible FRANKENSTEIN! Also collaborating with Mike Hill who sculpted and made the puppet (and puppeteered it to life) with the final screen performance digitally augmented by MRXFX!
