West Michigan home this week. Just sayin'.

"Instead of trying to shut us down, the party leadership should be asking how they can harness this energy. Because if they keep attacking their own base, they won’t have anyone left to blame but themselves."
Time to kick the "sit down and shut up" crowd to the curb before they blow it again.

BREAKING: A unanimous U.S. Supreme Court ruled for Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel in her argument that Enbridge Energy waited too long to ask to move a lawsuit about twin pipelines running beneath the Straits of Mackinac to federal court from state court.

Support for impeaching Trump is at 55%, according to a new Strength In Numbers/ @Verasight.io poll, with 37% of adults opposed. Crucially 1 in 5 of Trump’s own voters support impeachment.

Not sure if people are aware of this, but have seen a few reports on it - and well, they're going to find out as prices keep increasing.
One good thing is the throwaway economy may be over. We stop filling landfills with crap, as we learn to reuse and recycle. It can be done.
We've got a bullpen problem. Middle relief has been less than stellar, to put it mildly.
So my local NBC is running Seth Meyers reruns and now they cut into the news already in progress?
No more national anthem. Nexstar hates America, obviously. 🙄
Rural communities don't want anything but family farms and maybe we should concentrate on advancement for homes and businesses in or near cities.
It's the hard way, but conversion does have to be done at some point anyway. Excess fed back to the grid and used to lower our bills, thanks.

Happy Birthday to "The Godfather of Punk", born on this day, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. Musician, singer, songwriter, actor, punk legend and one of the most influential figures in rock history.
The front page of the Star Tribune on April 22, 2016, following the passing of Prince.
Lead at Tegna. 😎
Price increases have been slight to non-existent around here, meaning they are finding ways to eat the cost to remain competitive. My favorite spot reduced their hours a bit, for example.
"One by one, residents called on the board to approve a moratorium on new or expanded data centers."
So they kicked the can down the road again.
"The township board is expected to revisit the proposed moratorium at its next meeting, which is scheduled for May 18th."
Woot! 🥳
Here's where I tip my hat to WOOD - they send Albin down to cover it, and ran clips near the top of broadcast. None of the other GR stations have a headline at this point, not even Sinclair with an attack.
Lansing stations have a story, LNS just went up. Nothing in Detroit.
It be like that.
"The tenor at Huntington Place was notable as progressive delegates made their voices heard, cheering and booing candidates at the event that typically serves as an opportunity for the party to come together."
Freep's 2nd paragraph, more chastising about booing follows. Tsk tsk.
Not your friend.
"Along with Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist’s secretary of state nomination and the support shown for U.S. Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, Savit’s win at the convention shows support for progressives in the party."
Advance and MLive bury the fact these are "progressive" wins deep in their stories. 🤔
LOL. NBC speedrunning through its own poll results. Less than 10 seconds on this and I'm not kidding.
Washtenaw County Prosecutor Eli Savit wins the Michigan Democratic Party endorsement for attorney general in a win for the party's progressive wing.
That was a thoroughly satisfying afternoon of Tigers baseball activities.
Red Sox getting Dingled today. 😁
#Tigers
Oh. THAT kind of convention.
Excellent. 😁
For all dismissing this with “yeah so?” Here is the problem:
May this catch on. 😁
You tell me on AG. Not even a clue as to who the party darling might be here.
"They are Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald, Detroit-area public defender and trial lawyer William Noakes and Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney Eli Savit."
MDP gave us Nessel, hoping for similar wisdom today.
None that spring to mind, I'm sure there's some out there. I've picked it up over the course of 60 years. 😉
Like everywhere, the city/metro has become blue and attractive, surrounding burbs lean red but are quickly changing, rural is still deep red - but that's shrinking, and pushed farther out.
It is... but it isn't. Far more oppressive and prevalent when I was a kid.
GR itself, and increasingly the surrounding metro area, is progressive. A lot of the churches are too!
So, while you have DeVos, VanAndel $$ still a big driver in GOP, harsh CReform bigotry doesn't fly here. Complicated!
Great thread on the very complicated labor unrest that happened in Grand Rapids with our then main growth industry, furniture.
All the big wood furniture makers are gone. American Seating is here, is UAW, but number of employees is in the low hundreds.
We are a healthcare and college city now.
