Her six-minute statement appeared to have been written by someone else: she could not pronounce some of the words in it, like "trivial," and she said "calculating" and "convinced" in place of "circulating" and "convicted." Notably, she did not mention her husband even as her unexpected statement injected the issue of the Epstein files and his appearance in them squarely back into the news. When she was done speaking, she turned and walked back out of view the way she had come, as reporters shouted questions.
This is a jaw dropper read on trump/iran/melania. @hcrichardson.bsky.social’s methodical review is a must read. That last sentence is a banger:

Four months ago, Senator Mark Kelly and five other Democratic members of Congress issued a video explaining emphatically that illegal orders must be refused by every service member up and down the chain.
Today, we see exactly why they did so.
In a sane world, in a world of accountability, the man who incited a deadly insurrection five years ago never would have been able to hold public office again. That reckless, abusive man needs to be removed from office. Now.
So pro-life means jailing women who miscarry but shrugging when the deranged president says “a whole civilization will die tonight.” Do I have that right?
Some thoughts about the President of the United States speaking about ending a civilization. The president speaks genocide. Anyone who has been involved in that conversation or associated actions would be complicit. And so we too must speak. Not only about crimes, but about their legal punishment.
