Young adult happiness is falling. Percent of young people who are pretty or very happy has dropped from 88% to 76% over the last 15 years after having held fairly steady between 1980 and 2010

My hottest “I have no data to back this up” take is that phones aren’t making young people less happy. What’s making them less happy is living in a world where everyone is having their reality defined by recommendation algorithms that can only care about whether something keeps you watching.

I have a trusted friendly local game store about half an hour away that I can probably (hopefully) get a couple standalone boosters from, but those aren't as fun to wrap.

The worst part about my son kinda-sorta getting into Pokemon cards right now (just to look at/collect the cards right now) is that I can't just buy him an affordable booster bundle or ETB or something for his birthday next week thanks to scalpers.

One major improvement The Super Mario Galaxy Movie made over its predecessor that I haven’t seen enough people talk about: They leaned on actual Nintendo tunes instead of relying on licensed pop music. Much better audio experience.
