Maybe it was a blessing that I wasn't invited to the Michael press screening. Completely feels like a fake movie to me.

‘Over Your Dead Body’ Review: Jason Segel and Samara Weaving Hilariously Fight Till Death Do Them Part Weaving and Segel excel as a couple straight out of hell.

Jason Segel and Samara Weaving get on their Mr. & Mrs. Smith meets Tom & Jerry shit in Jorma Taccone's OVER YOUR DEAD BODY— a hilarious gory bloodfest that sees him upgrading his action skillset since ripping throats out in MacGruber.

'Lee Cronin’s The Mummy' Review: A Bloated, Formulaic Horror Better Left in the Crypt Man, they’re 0/2 with non-Brendan Fraser Mummy movies. WHAT ARE THE ODDS?

LEE CRONIN'S THE MUMMY got solid moments of grisly grossness but this part-EXORCIST/part-SEVEN horror is a bland, lethargic slog that should've been left in the crypt. SO MANY SAUCELESS SPLIT-DIOPTER SHOTS! How is that possible?!

'Mother Mary’ Review: Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel Ignite a Haunting Pop Fever Dream Insane how David Lowery said Taylor Swift’s Reputation was the inspiration when this is Gaga's "Perfect Celebrity (Lowery Version)."

I had to refrain from screaming "MOTHER" at pop star Anne Hathaway during David Lowery's MOTHER MARY — an intoxicating Hathaway/Michaela Coel two-hander about a popstar and her former fashion designer tryna "work it out on the remix".

"Star Wars" Keeps Its Animation on the Dark Side (Literally) with "Maul - Shadow Lord" Perpetuates my fears about Dave Filoni and this new era of “Star Wars.”

For @ebertvoices.bsky.social, I reviewed MAUL — SHADOW LORD. By far it's the highest-quality Lucasfilm CG series to date. However, its insistance on aura over insight on the former Sith Lord it furthers my trepidation towards this new Filoni era.

Wagner Moura rules tho.

‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ Review: Let's-a stop! Functions like a Mario improv troupe — operates on a continuous string of "yes, ands" with no structural discipline.

Going bigger while delivering less, as Illumination sequels tend to do, THE SUPER MARIO GALAXY MOVIE functions like a Mario improv troupe. It operates on a continuous string of "yes, ands" with no structural discipline. Yoshi's Egg on my face for hoping to be at least entertaining.

‘The Drama’ Review: Zendaya and Robert Pattinson Lead a Twisted Rom-Com That Turns “I Do” Into Existential Chaos A rollercoaster of a postmodern ‘70s-style AMERICAN rom-com that does everything but skimp out on its title.

I thought THE DRAMA to be a sharp, well-crafted, funny, tragic fable about the importance of accepting one's entire past before saying "I do." But Kristoffer Borgli is growing irksome on me with the same "fragile ego death slow-burn" storyline he's been doing for three films straight.

‘Forbidden Fruits’ Review: Witchy Mall Horror Comedy is Pure 2000s Mean-Girl Magic For the late-millennial/Gen-Z girlies who wished Limited Too had a Mean Girls and The Craft section in 2004.

I love Meredith Alloway's FORBIDDEN FRUITS so much. It conjures up an hilarious gothic/femme witchy throwback, fueled by sharp wit, and subversive character work. Truly for the now-adult girlies who always wished Limited Too had a MEAN GIRLS and THE CRAFT section in their youth.

I really wanted to love THEY WILL KILL YOU out of SXSW but it goes from a delightful, blood-soaked ‘70s-style remix to a tedious experience hella fast. But please more Zazie Beetz lead roles @ Hollywood. Give her better action vehicles.

"Daredevil: Born Again" Stays Blind to the Cultural Moment in Season 2 Its restrictive character writing and dull, self-contained storytelling result in a middling, slow-building season.

“This sophomore season offers some catharsis in a more narratively focused, albeit weaker, follow-up that shares a closer identity with the original Netflix series, for better and for worse,” writes @rendy.bsky.social about DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN.

'Adam's Apple' Beautifully and Complexly Captures Trans Boyhood Amy K. Jenkins' intimate dual compilation portrait, Adam's Apple, about her trans son Adam Sieswerda, feels like a powerful response to the Trump era's inaccurate views of trans kids.

Amy K. Jenkins’ intimate dual compilation portrait, Adam’s Apple, about her trans son Adam Sieswerda, is a raw and vulnerable, decade-sprawling tale about a rural northeastern family’s evolution as the eldest child embarks on a transition journey.

‘The Bride!’ Review: Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Stylish Monster Movie is a Chaotic, Half-Formed Feminist ‘Joker’ Even with Buckley’s showstopping lead and bursts of striking imagery, The Bride never comes alive.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's THE BRIDE is just a *Bo Burnham voice* a whiiiiite womaaaaaaan. A white woman's Joker film.

HOPPERS is the weirdest, most unhinged, and unpredictable movies to come out of Pixar in years. But for Daniel Chong, this is just another Monday. Nevertheless, it's the best shock to the system the studio had to its system since TURNING RED.

Really enjoyed Amanda Kramer's BY DESIGN when I saw it at Sundance last year. Juliette Lewis body switches with a chair. No seriously. It's absurd, theatrical, esoteric and sturdy...like a chair.

Hits theaters Friday. Def check it out.
