yeah i dont think the self-serve or blocklists are enough, but i do think they could be more satisfied by making some "SafeSky" or something where they have more of their own infra and can ban someone from their zone. idk exactly which things they would run but maybe something like it could work
it would be great if wafflegate prompts groups to set up their own atproto infra bc they don't trust the team to moderate anymore. a win-win
bsky team keeps talking about decentralization and everyone zones out like it's math class
then everyone gets mad about centralized moderation decisions
Down Detector saying "no current problems at Bluesky"
nice
im on android and its very snappy for me right now, idk
wait bsky app is now way faster than twitter
when i click into a thread it opens immediately instead of spinning for a second
wow
that's my secret cap ... ive always been decentralized
good luck
im hopeful that the improved algo feeds, mute lists, etc, will make it a lot better this time
last time there was just a single timeline for the whole site, so everyone *had* to read everyone else's tweets. and that made everyone angry
apparently it is a known issue with the 16 million user load rn
ai generated sisyphus carrying a smiling boulder

im typing all lower case to fly under the radar incognito maximally illegible
@dwarkesh.bsky.social is the best podcast right now. he talks a lot w guests about ai but also broader stuff like with sarah paine on ww2 or daniel yergin on oil
yes & i think the easiest way is to just keep trying new difficult things. that way you can keep getting good over time and then always starting something else new to keep your humility
thread composer is nice but imo the correct way to write threads is one tweet at a time submitting as you go
High quality horizontally spinning prerat

squash is great because it doesnt result in a bunch of tape on the tennis court
i dont think so, probably the important feature is seeing who else liked the post in a given convo, which is here yeah
i will make my own discourse then. it is pickleball vs tennis. the battle lines are drawn and they are either 78'x36' or 44'x20'

i am a staunch gif supporter HOWEVER you have to source the gif yourself. you gotta be writing ffmpeg commands with palletegen/palleteuse. this is the way
