As someone who unfortunately had to deal with Dolezal, I'm glad something good came out of that whole circus...
A classic ππΌ
i think folks might be unfamiliar with "the pharisees", so let's make it clear: he's saying the jews run the press, and that they are conspiring to undermine the military. it's not just antisemitism, it's indistinguishable from nazism.
Agreed that Harris was not seen as culturally centrist by a large chunk of voters. Whether those of us on the left agree with that characterization is immaterial.
I immediately know who wrote this... π
US President Donald Trump says the US Navy would immediately start blockading the Strait of β Hormuz and would also interdict every vessel in international waters that had β paid a toll to Iran. https://aje.news/x545rk
We have entered the βyou canβt kill me if I commit suicideβ phase of American Decline
You happen to have the full poll with methodology?
Translation of Wurman's post: "At least seven prominent law professors are peddling ahistorical crap, including me."
CDC delays publishing report showing covid vaccine benefits The acting CDC director cited concerns with the methodology, but the design has long been used to test vaccine effectiveness.
"The acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has delayed publication of a CDC report showing the covid-19 vaccine cut the likelihood of emergency department visits and hospitalizations for healthy adults last winter by about half." Gift link: wapo.st/4ccudpF
The hubris and cruelty of the Trump administration has led Iranians to mobilize against America. It was easy to see this coming.
A crescent Earth seen setting behind a vast lunar landscape of craters.
NASA's first image from the Artemis II close flyby of the moon shows "Earthset," with a crescent Earth seen over the moon's cratered surface.
All of these proposals are bad. Democrats need to stop trying to "one up" Republicans on tax cuts.
Because the Gays of Hormuz would be serving oil left and right.
I used to chat with folks Bill Morlin-- who was a journalist for both publications-- pretty frequently about rising right-wing extremism in my neck of the woods.
Publications like Hatewatch and Intelligence Report were indispensable to me when I worked and organized in politics in Spokane/Eastern WA state.
A must read from the wonderful @michaelehayden.bsky.social .
It's very sad to see an organization like @splcenter.org stray so far from its core mission, particularly at a time when right-wing extremism has become mainstream.
So sorry this happened to you, but I really appreciate you being willing to share all of this with us.
So good π©ππΌ
Nativism didn't become more prevalent over the last several years because "the left" was pro-undocumented immigration. It became more prevalent because of a coordinated campaign among the right to smear immigrants of all stripes.
*long, deep sigh*
Why does @theatlantic.com think this is print-worthy? The right has agency and autonomy. How about we blame them for their bigotry?
This is constitutionally suspect....
This was amazing to watch πππ
The about-face of Wurman, Lash and Barnett should be understood for what it is: An attempt to stay cozy with those in power in the Republican Party.
A great opinion piece by @jamellebouie.net that concisely exposes the hackery of Wurman, Lash, and Barnett.

The last time before this was probably the Local Rent Supplement Program Eligibility Amendment Act of 2024. Before that⦠Office of the Ombudsperson for Children, Revised Criminal Code, Department of Buildings, etc.
The Committee Print includes language that would authorize DOB to apply the rule to anything that is not a high-rise building, as defined in the International Building Code.
If the legislation is funded and the rule is approved before construction of the mixed use development, it could still be useful at the RFK site.
I was happy to work on this bill.
I learned a lot about the history of the District's building code (because I'm a nerd and did a bunch of archival research on old building codes) and what the fire science literature says about egress and evacuations
