3 arrested in Livonia after cops use 'The Grappler' to stop stolen car Livonia officers deployed net and tether device to ensnare fleeing vehicle on I-96 Thursday.

This is some Wile E. Coyote level stuff right here. If it was your stolen truck, it would definitely be a good news/bad news situation to find your rear axle ripped off but the rest of the truck saved. www.detroitnews.com/story/news/l...

Michigan resident dies of rabies from organ transplant Every year, around 60,000 Americans receive post-exposure care, and fewer than 10 rabies deaths are reported, according to the CDC.

YIKES! I remember being frightened about rabies several years back when I got bit by a dog while I was out on a run. I did not know I could get it at a hospital. www.detroitnews.com/story/news/l...

Detroit sports fan, social-media star enters hospice: 'I love you all' Andy Isaac, behind the @WorldofIsaac account on X, has been battling cancer since he was first diagnosed in 2006.

I've only ever really paid attention to a handful of social media stars. And this guy, a genuinely good guy, is one of them. I will forever remember his "Faturdays" posts to Twitter, where he'd give his unbiased and hilarious video reviews of snack foods, candy, ice cream, whatever. Fuck cancer.

West Texas measles outbreak grows to 58 cases, including some vaccinated people | CNN The number of measles cases linked to an outbreak in West Texas has grown to 58, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services.

This story highlights why herd immunity is so important. Of the 58 measles cases, 4 have now been reported in people who were vaccinated. The absolute last thing we want is a huge outbreak that could result in mutations that evade the vaccines. amp.cnn.com/cnn/2025/02/...

Interesting. I did not know there was a third party doing this. Thankfully, one of my credit card companies lets me generate a virtual number with either a time limit or a credit limit -- my choice. Folks should check their CC company before giving too much info to yet another company.

Michigan lawmakers shrug off investigations, keep collecting big checks in secret The Detroit News has uncovered 87 accounts that fall outside of disclosure requirements that have been collecting anonymous donations for lawmakers.

Corner store no more: Who benefits in national pharmacy shakeout may not surprise you Retail pharmacies are experiencing change as major pharmacy chains face rising operating costs, lower reimbursements and evolving consumer behavior.

Threads takes on Bluesky with more advanced search | TechCrunch Meta's X competitor Instagram Threads is gaining an improved search interface, the company announced on Monday. The app, which offers a Meta-run

I don't think Search is Threads' problem. Its problem is that it seems to have the same sort of mystery algorithm as the rest of Meta, bent on force-feeding users what it thinks they want (and a whole lot of things it knows they don't want).
