Spring is arriving and I’m trying to keep the climbing devils claw, wild clematis and English Privet at bay.

More views of the beds getting mulched we have at least one more cold snap heading but the bed that it’s in the middle with that beautiful dark hugel kulture bed is just waiting to get planted with squash and herbs.

When the previous stewards left they took many of the pavers. Away because they were donated and they wanted to preserve that intention. What they left was a trench of plastic weed fabric 5” Og granite gravel and 2” of sand 9” below The grade. I’m utilizing huglekultur to recalibrate the soil.

Last of the snow is receding. We discovered that no one lived in this house. Certainly not through winter. The windows are ornamentation only we will have to request from the historic commission to replace all of the windows. Arggg more $$$$$

The kitchen. My old desk won't fit in the office upstairs so it's a pkace holder for the future island. The stove the previous owner left is not safe. The burners don't turn off. All good for now I've portable induction burners but no oven. Maybe a large toaster oven, sous vide and microwaves. The dink is barely stanfibg . Work in progress.

The living room, currently has a full mattress set. The head board would not fit to go up the tiny 1800’s stairs.

Rainy sunday. After a week of moving. The barn is full of unorganized stuff. The 219 house is inhaling whilst the 401 house exhales. The goal: get the 401 house ready to present to the next occupant.

We lost a pecan tree from the wind cracked on the western side facing the house. It was a small one but best got it down before it landed on the house. We got it to fall to the east. House is safe for another day.

Today I created a grape arbor by repurposing the one on the property. 10 x 10 on off center 6 poles. Each will have a single muscadine variety To grow on I’ll also transplant my kiwis onto their own trellis system. We have room to inhale some.

Added a couple more camellia chinensis to the tea bed. Primed the figs hard to transplant. Planted more fruit trees and pruned the peaches into tree shape. They were really bushy.

You may have seen the historic Washington announcement sign in front of 319 East Third Street. We are requesting to relocate the potter’s studio and greenhouse from Marjet Street to this site, continuing stewardship through reuse, repair, and intentional growth aligned with our current goals.

The exchange of stewardship allows the Rose Haven Institute to realign and move forward, while the relocation of The Kracked Pot reflects our current aspirations, goals, and the direction we’re ready to grow into.
