They blame the worst consequences on their contractor’s sub-contractors, and in doing so they avoid kind of accountability.
Of course they would lie to you on the origin tag. That lie is the smallest lie they are telling you.
Global fashion brands have outsourced the responsibility of knowing what’s going on down the supply chain to avoid any kind of association with the blatant human rights abuses and environmental damage this industry is doing.
many fashion brands don’t even try to account for every supplier or firm past that first level of contracts. Why? Because they don’t have to and more importantly, they don’t want to know.
