I’m going to (probably wrongly) assume that the meadows are either protected or a nature reserve. Maybe both🤷‍♂️

Senior Labour figures warn government amid fears of ‘political earthquake’ in London Exclusive: Senior party figures share data suggesting Green surge could put Labour in fourth place in capital in May

As a lefty, progressive, prev.Labour member, have watched its collapse under Starmer & his cronies. The Green Party which I’m a member maybe should call themselves the Green and Progressive Alliance 🤷‍♂️ It could potentially destroy Labour for simply being stupid. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

True, but Polanski more than dealt with it. Bull on the other hand, sounded like the cry babies that they are. I’m almost loathe to say, but I wonder what % of ‘family’ voters were Reform🤔

I take it those pines are going? Good work 👍👏

Great work, these grasslands are vital for so many species. I’d like to see more tree popping because I’m seeing more species rich grasslands disappearing under scrub, secondary tree encroachment and overgrown swards due to poor or no grazing.

Time for men to be vetted for their sanity before being let anywhere near power or influence

The UK government didn't want you to see this report on ecosystem collapse. I'm not surprised | George Monbiot It took an FOI request to bring this national security assessment to light. For ‘doomsayers’ like us, it is the ultimate vindication, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Please spread this far and wide, as stories don't get much bigger than this. When the government blocks even the intelligence services from telling us we're heading for environmental catastrophe, you know we have a problem. A very big problem.
Thank you.

Waxcap grasslands need formal, legal protection. Happy to discuss.

The defection of Suella Braverman, who was sacked twice from Government in disgrace, spent £700m of taxpayers' money to send four volunteers to Rwanda on a deportation scheme that was then scrapped and has a public approval rating of minus 32 is currently being described as a "major coup" for Reform

If you have any doubt that Farage is the British pro-consul for Trump’s Dark Empire, read this story about the rehabilitated Putin stooge Manafort

Doubtful Labour, Lib Dem and Greens will organise but likely voters will. It happened last time, something Labour won’t acknowledge or is genuinely too stupid to🤷‍♂️

I live in the wettest part of #Dorset but just wow this month. If the forecast holds that’s the rainfall for 2025. So after yesterday and a little more into 22nd we’ve had 🥁🥁 298.5mm …… Dec 2025 wettest month since I’ve had a weather station in Jan. 2022. @metoffice.gov.uk

Beyond shocking I don’t think it’s possible for Badenoch and the Conservative Party to stoop any lower. Trump playbook of course; appalling. I cannot quite believe things have got this horrendous. Badenoch has thrown what little rationality was there under the bus. Out reforming reform 🤦‍♂️

Frightening and sickening. Remember J Rees-Mogg blathering on about us being a vassal state of the EU. Now we are becoming such to the authoritarian 🇺🇸 with truly objectionable and immoral business and corporate interests.

Right wing (and weak centrist parties without any fcuking backbone) are killing the environment. One of the key benefits of the UK being in the EU was its balancing effect to this kind of shit. When there’s an environmental crisis cutting green rules is insane🤬

Useful thread on some 🔑 components of the OEPs review of nature/wildlife laws & protected sites. Simply, Govt & its regulators are not doing anywhere enough & falling way behind in terms of actions (managing/protecting) and monitoring of protected sites - the Jewels in the crown for biodiversity 🤷‍♂️

Cracking site. I use pics of the anthills from there in presentations.

Not my discovery but Bryan found it and I was shown it and we discovered more! Great story and over the 🌒 that the land comes in into the stewardship of the NT.

Such a shame, I still regularly pull the other wildlife series off the bookshelf. Classics and I don’t think matched.

We’ll need to await a final list but provisionally: CHEGD 5/16/4?/1/1. Tony Leech took home a number of specimens so 🤞 a few more to add to the total. The earthtongue was extraordinary!

Cracking day, fantastic selection of species and dare I say exceeding expectations. I didn’t get any pictures myself!
