It's not even like you said it was a bad game, just that it was at thematic odds with the story's genre vs. the mechanical genre. Mid, basically.
If it helps you, definitely made me go "oh, huh, that's a good point" and I wasn't even deeply invested in the game, which speaks to your skill.
This is why the experiential aspect of learning how to program has become my favorite part. Things come together over time. Using the slop machine to do code for me would rob me of those little eureka moments. It's not about being a hipster--it's just the satisfaction of saying "I did that". (4/4)
The realization is the artistry. Going "oh, I could just put these together like this and now there's less to maintain on both parts". Or going back to old code to refine the way it works just a little to test that you understand something new. That's wonderful. (3/4)
After talking to the rest of the team & working out a few other factors, I realized that with the recommended suggestions they brought up, I could pretty much condense the extra code and hitbox down into one script instead of two. So I did that, and parrying works like a charm w/less overhead. (2/4)

Just yesterday for Shootlanzer I was working on a parrying feature for our new P2 character, Paloma. The rough working version of it required another hitbox and a bit more scattered code. (1/4)

Always. And as noted elsewhere in the thread it's especially annoying to hear it from white Europeans, because their cultures are one of the reasons we even got here in the first place. I take the frustration on the chin from people from the places the US has screwed over though.

While I always would've preferred that people didn't use the thing at all to have to understand that it's useless I'll still take someone ultimately deciding to do better and rebuild their creative sense than continuously scorn them. At least as long as they stay committed to not going back. (2/2)

The "Lead Rider" and "Secondary Rider" are both women, as is a vast majority of the planned major cast; the lead and secondary are both not White (Black & Latina respectively), etc. Turned out to be a lot more productive than cussing Toei for not bothering to do Something Different. (2/2)
This is true of pretty much any other creative endeavor, but since writing is the example: I feel a type of way that Kamen Rider's odds of having a femme Rider lead the cast in a main series is Unlikely, so I've been off-and-on writing my own Something where I can change that. It helps! (1/2)
"We chose you for x/Bump that, I'm doing y" is always more compelling to me because it reaffirms that the most important thing is not that you were chosen, but what you choose to do and who you choose to be. But I'm willing to see how Takahashi & the writing team curve this one. (2/2)
I definitely see where you're coming from.
For me I think the implications bother me less b/c of Kamen Rider's whole "Cross of Fire" thematic, and that for me usually softens the "Chosen One" angle because (to your point) the Rider then fights against what "chose" them, most of the time. >>
