We had a briefing recently that an AI tool is being used as part of our admissions process (although not to make the final decisions). What really had me screaming, though, was that the acronym/abbreviation is HAL - has no-one in the relevant team seen/read '2001'?!?!

I get that, and I'm not downplaying (or not intending to downplay) the many many disadvantages of losing a job, but I wasn't sure whether Vole might finally have got to the point of having had enough, and the downsides of leaving might just be felt to be better than the downsides of staying.
