This is an excellent resource for those of us trying to monitor developments across US higher education right now with regards to international students #intled

Who are the friends at the moment?!
Not sure I follow this take. This week they state "America’s allies should seek strength in numbers. Europe needs a plan to take over the leadership of NATO" and others "to preserve an alternative liberal order" and be"ready to welcome back America under a new president in 2029"
Can't just be me wondering who is profiting from all these announcements that shock the markets.
You could (unfortuantely) dedicate many chapters to the New York Jets.
I'd love to know how you've interpreted the last week's events @thehistoryguy.bsky.social given this statement.
Dan Snow's analysis of 1939 and how modern equivalent would be an "unimaginable" alliance of #US and #Russia to "dismember a country" feels scarily relevant. source Netflix, #Churchill at War.
Whatever the short term wins/deals #Trump secures it seems inevitable the long term consequence is trust in the US to protect the collective interest of the #FreeWorld is over.
That's an interesting observation
"Musk controls half the satellites in orbit. He plans to launch up to 58,000 more in the next five years" is a mind boggling statistic.
A quick summary of how the UK counter-proposal on youth mobility matches up against the Commission's offer, the existing UK mobility visa, and FoM

Please help me understand #H1B visa issuances. Annual #H1Bcap is 85k plus 20k available to adv US degree holders. But in 2024 there were 220k H1B visas issued according to US Dept of State data. Are the rest all extensions?
Student mobility continues to be disrupted globally. Visas remain a key barrier for many prospective students. Last year, in the US visa rejections hit new highs. Find out how INTO is supporting students and partners address challenges in recruitment and onboarding tinyurl.com/mwu3szuz #intled
Beat me to it
"Only offensive, odious Donald could end the war in Ukraine, which he is now doing." This line feels very "Got Brexit Done." Trump is ripping up the post-WW2 western order and threatening rules-based norms. Who knows the longer term consequences?
You can't legitimately go around the world saying there's a "new sheriff in town" whilst ripping up the rules-based system of international politics at the same time. Short term wins perhaps, but at what cost?! #RogueSheriff #RuleOfLaw
#Musk has adopted the term #DOGE, promoting the Dogecoin cryptocurrency and now his Dept of Gov't Efficiency. But did you know that Doge was the name of the highest role of authority within the Republic of Venice (697-1797 CE) and head of the Venetian oligarchy. Doges served for life. #justsaying
Int'l students currently face significant scrutiny and barriers to obtaining visas across many destinations. Our survey of 2,261 recent arrivals in the UK and USA showcase how this is affecting the onboarding and orientation experience, as well as pre-enrolment journey. #intled lnkd.in/erUjuYNC
This looks like a fascinating set of discussions. Are you open to participants from commercial organisations who are also conducting research into international student experience?
To the editor of @foreignaffairs.com, I'd love to understand how you manage the process of compiling the next issue!
As a Politics graduate myself, this is good news to read.
People who use their platforms to promote tolerance, often placing themselves in harms way, always impress me immensely. "We were all once strangers in this land". A very eloquent address. youtu.be/ACcD8FA15uY
Here's something I did write about how people may be inaccurately using sources of global mobility data which might interest those following this news. www.intoglobal.com/insights/cor...
An interesting observation that perceptions of class are outdated with two thirds of US "working class" employed in service sectors, an area where apprenticeship schemes are often overlooked (and where UK experienced large #apprenticeship growth)
There's an oversimplification that I struggle with when it comes to many of the Generational tags (which seem quite Western in their construct for one). As a 1978 baby this distinction does make sense to me though #GenX #Millennial
On the day the UK govt announced its AI vision interesting to note US administration plans to tier and restrict global access to AI technology and computing power ouside the US. www.reuters.com/technology/a... #AI
A group of over 60 German universities have left Twitter/X. These include the major Berlin universities:

Such a good data visualisation to showcase increasing temperatures / warmest year on record. #dataviz
I guess i was asking the question with a UK perspective, where some government funding might be from international research funds (eg European) and how funds allocated from government via student loans might be reported here.
