Super excited about my newest haul from @sabotag3d.bsky.social!
Ordered weekend of Salute, they were posted immediately after and arrived here in US in about a week.
Lots of painting to do, but should set me up for What A Cowboy and Chain of Command. Plan to display the CoC morale tokens thus.

Generally inexpensive - around $20 USD per box. If you can find the specific box you want. There’s a big range of manufacturers and factions - certainly for WW2.
Quality is hit or miss.
Most take paint well.
Not build what you want although you can modify sometimes - depends on the pose.

Looks like a great session.
I play mostly solo and have several other TFL games. I’ve wondered how well S&H would play solo given the hidden card information and decision to invoke a test. Do you have any recommendations on that?

Goodness - hope that resolves well soon!
I once went in for a lab blood draw. The technician jabbed me and then said “Oops”. Not reassuring. She then noticed I had turned pale and said I should have told her I didn’t do well with blood draws. I said that hearing “oops” was the issue.

Those horns are fantastic! I can never get horns to look quite right.

Yes with modern joint replacements they don’t let you get comfortable - moving around early on seems to be very beneficial. Hope your recovery continues to go well!

Cool! It’s always nice to see what some of the older models looked like.

Those look fantastic. I am quite partial to dwarves and was just thinking I need a few more (rational brain here - I really don’t).

I’ve heard people predict we could build a giant 3D printer to the moon and it would assemble a research facility by itself from moon rocks. I can’t get mine to print a toy boat Benchy, but sure, let’s plan on that working out.

As if painting stripes on shields wasn’t hard enough, you’ve got to worry about horse caparisons too? I’ll stick with WW2 and scifi…
But it does look quite impressive.

Sounds / looks interesting. Given how some aspects of horror can be pretty disturbing it’s cool to see that they built in the X card safety mechanic.

Brass plaques set in the pavement of a street in the Jewish Quarter of Berlin. They bear the names of Berlin citizens who died in the Holocaust and are located at the last known residence of the victims. On this International Holocaust Remembrance Day, never forget.

First hobby painting project of the year is complete: my team of Chroniclers for Mappa Mundi. Still need to make a plinth and explore different light color / brightness combinations, but already much better than my old mini photo setup. Background is one of Handiwork’s backdrop books.

I wondered why that felt vaguely familiar - congratulations! It looks great!

Looks great so far! I really like the battle damage / scrapes. My Tau always look pristine like they do in their propaganda vids - the battle damage is probably more lore accurate.
Good luck with the competition!
Oh, and don’t tell the Ethereals I liked this post about Farsight…

I’m quite happy to see that these backdrop books have arrived!.
I’ve got a lot of SciFi minis who have been awaiting this latest SciFi book.
And several minis for “What A Cowboy” to use for the desert book.
And a number of WW2 ones as well.

True. I was mainly referring to this style of greeting card which seems specific to the Victorian era.

Just listened to day 5 of the Too Fat Lardies Advent calendar. Today was @johnsavage.bsky.social talking about “What a Cowboy”. I always enjoy hearing wargame rules writers talk about the different thought processes that went into how the final rules mechanics turn out.

I never can wrap my head around these Victorian cards!
Although the way the girl is just sitting there happily eating as her brother is chained up and shoved in a box is a pretty good summation of a typical sibling relationship.

That is wonderful news. But certainly not surprising to any of us who have played it. Congratulations!
