I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

Sánchez, Lula Lead 'Work for Peace' and Equality at Gathering of Global Progressive Leaders in Spain | Common Dreams Join progressive leaders from around the world in Barcelona this weekend as they unite against extremism, inequality, and misinformation. Can democracy prevail in the face of rising authoritarianism? ...

“The good news is that, from Zohran Mamdani and [Congresswoman] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in New York to Pedro Sánchez in Spain, from Lula in Brazil to [Green Party Leader] Zack Polanski in the UK, we may be seeing the early signs of a new cross-border alliance taking shape against global oligarchy.”

I’m a Green Party councillor for City Ward #Sheffield. It’s a densely populated urban ward.

I’m going to talk about digital advertising screens, which doesn’t sound exciting, but please bear with me.

I want to explain why I spend time objecting to so many of these.

Since 2023, I’ve …

Trump claims Starmer is weak as he mocks PM and UK aircraft carriers Footage shows US president saying UK ‘should be our best’ ally and accusing PM of prevarication over sending ships

The King cannot and must not be sent off to give any credence or dignity whatsoever to this abhorrent individual.

There is still a residual sense that UK/Europe and the USA are roughly on the same side with regards issues like Iran, it's just a difference of tactics and approach. I think we need to jettison this idea as quickly as possible. Sadly the USA is in and of itself a major security threat at present.

82% of Britain’s electricity is currently zero carbon.

This is an incredible achievement of which we should be rightly proud and motivated to go further, faster.

Instead, we’ve got fossil fuelled politicians telling us we should be focusing on 93% depleted North Sea oil & gas.

I know there's always ifs and buts and now is not the times, but can we just rejoin the EU already? This nonsense has gone on for far too long and done enough damage. The world is rapidly changing and we need to stop wasting time masturbating over the ghost of sovereignty.

Imagine how much money we’ve wasted. Imagine how much could have gone into the NHS, public services, tackling poverty…
Will anyone be held responsible though? For the lies that were told, the false promises made?
Perhaps a brexit tax on all the corporations that cashed in?

If we made the green energy transition this war would be unthinkable and these authoritarians wouldn’t be in power — not in the US, not in Iran, not in Saudi Arabia, not in Russia. Hydrocarbons are killing our freedom and just plain killing us.

52% of U.K gas consumption is for heating and cooking (mainly heating).

The Government committing to the simple task of delivering a heat pump, electric oven, and induction hob at every home in the land, to reduce emissions and increase energy security, should be a strategic national priority.

Polanski responding to Kemi Badenoch comments.

No name calling. No shouting. Just one calmly stated fact.

Honestly, one of the most respectful political eviscerations I’ve ever witnessed.

Water crisis looms as company warns it can’t meet demand for new homes Councillors say it must serve as a wake-up call on the Labour government's plans to build 1.5m new homes

South East Water says it can't provide water to all new homes

Water companies haven't built new reservoirs for decades, paid dividends, govts did nothing

Govt wants to build new homes but no infrastructure planning. That's what happens when you privatize essentials infrastructure.

I remember when ‘Brexit Means Brexit’ became a way for silly people to insist that they supported something they could neither justify nor explain. Obviously the context is very different, but something similar is already happening with the ‘war’ in Iran. And it’s mostly the same people doing it.

Dressing up for world book day is bullshit, even leaving the parental finance stuff aside. It's one of very few 'event' days in school calenders set aside for a solo, quiet, activity – and then it's turned into dress-up. Spectacularly misses the point. Schools should drop it from a great height.

The Green Party has 200,000 members but fewer than Reform, which has 270,000.

Wrong.

Reform is a limited company entirely owned by Nigel Farage.

So it only has 1 member.

The other 269,999 are just a mailing list.

Unlike Green Party members, they do not elect leaders or determine policy.

The UK must end our cosy relationship with the USA and our ongoing support for Israel.

Reacting to Labour's devastating loss to the Green Party in Gorton and Denton, Keir Starmer claims that only Labour can unite communities. I agree. He convinced Muslims to vote for a white working class woman representing a party led by a gay Jewish man.
