Down having a look at the blockade on O'Connell street and what strikes me most is that this is in reality a very small protest that looks big because of the size of the vehicles involved.

There's a few dozen people standing around at most.

Whatever the outcome of the current protests,a few things are evident-we have a government devoid of imagination on how to deal with any challenges facing us, & protesters should be very wary of being co-opted by bad faith far right actors (aka the gays did not cause the increase in fuel prices!!)

That the statement "rising costs are making it hard for my business to keep going," is seen as worthy of respect in a way that, "I can't afford a place to live," isn't tells you everything about the prevailing values of the Irish media.
Some people matter, some people don't.

Book bans often target women's stories (Handmaid's Tale, Color Purple, The Hill We Climb) and women's stories are also absent in school curricula. Where state standards focus on women in history, they emphasize domestic roles, rather than women's work or activism.
