I thoroughly enjoyed @garethlpowell.bsky.social's latest book, Jitterbug. I wasn't sure how it was going to end even halfway through. It's well paced with an exciting universe and characters who fit well within it, and the twist at the end was mind-blowing! Highly recommend it!

Jitterbug has been out a month now, and it's been attracting some great reviews. And given the current interest in the Artemis II mission, I should probably mention that the story's partly set on the moon!

If you’re an American should watch the Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown ep on Iran. A deeply humanizing look at a country full of people just like you and me. I watched it after Anthony died and it moved in ways that are hard to relay. I also immediately ran out to try kabob koobideh and tahdig.
I get it. I didn't like the forms that insisted on you filing in a prefix.
I sent messages through the contact forms.
So, the technology to deal with the technology is still progressing, as is our (publishers' and agents') response to it all.

I understand the debate about programs that determine AI use. The best I know of is 98% accurate, which still presents a 2% chance of being inaccurate. On the other hand, there needs to be some determination, just as there always has with classroom plagiarism. (4/5)
If anyone can take from your work (because it's already taken from the work of others), then publishers can't protect their investments and so, no, won't take a chance on your work. And contracts are legal documents, so lying about use of AI is NOT advisable. (Not that lying ever is.) (3/5)

I’ve said it before but will say it again: “writing with AI” is not a valid strategy. 1) you’re standing on the backs of others whose work was plagiarized for that purpose, 2) you’re not putting in the work and not bringing anything truly unique into the world (1/5)
