This morning when I woke up, the sky surprised me with a subtle, yet beautiful show of the clouds all being covered in soft gradients of subdued blue and orange. I haven't seen the gradients dance like that before. I can only assume that's what soft-type music sounds like. ☁️

Hey #portfolioday ! Amazingly, I’ve got two new personal paintings for this round!

This painting was created for Commander Sealed's 2026 playmat, the original will be auctioned in August.

My concept was to portray the strength that comes from community, the guidance and courage that we lend to one another in trying times.

On the Gothic horror side: Two years ago, I illustrated my favorite scenes from Bram Stoker's "Dracula" and collected them in an art zine. 🦇

“Stasis” is a portrait painted by the artist Zara Alfonso, and is the first piece in her series about invisible illness. A portrait painting of a girl with skin so pale she’s almost translucent, her lips are tinged blue and she gazes upward through seemingly unseeing eyes. Pale moths and winged insects cover the expanse of her face and body, blending into her skin in places.

The light is hazy, and suggests the time of day is in the afternoon, the sky colour on the left still has hints of blue. This is watercolour, then touched up with acrylic.
